That was good of Ole Vern but I found what he said about Florida and what he got from their coaching staff very interesting concerning no more Teebo. Basically it sounds like a lot of the the fun poking we did last year about how heavily Meyer and staff relied on Teebo was almost spot on. To the point that much of the problem this year is that the coaches still are trying to learn Brantley and that they keep trying to use him like Teebo. I just keep picturing Meyer standing on the sideline daydreaming "I wish it was like the good ole days when I could just tell Teebo to go out there and do stuff" :D

"Jules" Verne (and he's almost as old) is OK as an interviewer and a broadcast journalist, but not play-by-play; he's just not quick enough with the correct facts, and he bungles things up sometimes so bad I can't stop laughing and I miss a big play.

Yeah, Verne tends to mess some things up (Orlando McCain, anyone?). However, I think Gary Danielson does a good job of helping him out and correcting him. I don't mind him. I am interested to see how Danielson will do without being able to fawn all over Tebow...

I agree Verne bungles names and facts at times, but he does get highly excited during big plays in games, which I can't say about Musburger. Hearing Musburger call the NC game and the Penn State game has given me a greater appreciation for Verne.

Yeah, me, too - give me Verne over Musburger any time. It's like Musburger has to mentally remind himself to act excited over a play sometimes! Verne can butcher names sometimes, but we already know who he's talking about.

He will definitely bring up Tebow in the conversation.

I don't even like mustyburger as an interviewer or a broadcast journalist OR a play-by-play announcer; never have, never will.

eli gets excited about big plays, too, and sometimes he screws thing up, but not as bad as Verne...and Eli is on radio, not tv.

I'm sure every Verne and Gary will make reference to Tebow on every SEC game they do this year. Things like...

"Alabama's defensive secondary has been able to shut down the Arkansas passing attack today, largely because Tim Tebow no longer plays for the Gators."

I'll just be happy if Verne realizes where he is during the Arkansas game.

You mean Orlando McClain didn't play for Alabama last year?:)

I just wish Eli had more of a "radio voice". His high pitched commentary is hard for me to take in large doses.

I think I prefer Verne & Gary too...I want to reach thru the tv and shake Musburger when he gets on his "dancing for daylight" or "dashing for daylight" phrase...he repeats that phrase at least 50 times per game.:rolleye2:

Musburger is straight-up boring. He drones on and on. I don't know how he has a job as an announcer. Even Kirk Herbstreit, who I really like, can do nothing to help him.

Verne is an imbecile. A nice guy I'm sure and he has a great speaking voice, but God knows who or what he's talking about half the time. I actually have a soft spot for Verne due to his work in Happy Gilmore, but he doesn't do a good job.

Geez, Verne was in love with Tebow. I think he loves him more than his own kids. My Wife and I would sit around and make fun of him during games bc of it. I bet money he keeps talking and referring to him somehow this season.
