Hello welcome to the site and T-town. I would firmly suggest
'Dreamland' of all places and then 'Wings' on Mcfarland Blvd.
Theres also supposedly several great places in downtown Tusc.
as well.

Going to Buffalo Phil's on University is always a favorite of mine. Mmmmm, I can taste the chicken fingers and fries now. :) Although, trying to get a seat can be a big test sometimes. However many people you have in your group, have them spread out and jump at the first table that opens up. I think it's worth it.

I guess since you are in Utah you might not of seen too much of the old south, if thats the case I would also recomend City Cafe in downtown northport. Its just good old fashioned southern cooking and you can normally get out of there for under $5, its where all the locals, including students eat lunch.

Also get a look at Rama Jama's next to the stadium. I like their chilli dogs.

ditto

mostly just make sure you have plenty of time to hang out on the quad before the game. Go to Denny Chimes on the quad and see all the captains. Go see the new walk of champions in front of the stadium-walk over there about 2 hours before the game and watch the team arrive (maybe a little earlier if you want a good spot).

have fun! i know you will-there's nothing like a football saturday in t-town!...... i'll be there somewhere too!

once again, don't forget the Bryant Museum! might want to try Ramma Jamma's, it's right by the stadium.

RBBF has given you all the links you'll need to get info on where to stay, eat, play, etc.

If this is going to be your first trip to Tuscaloosa, you are indeed in for a treat! Too bad we're playing Houston...you'd probably have an even better experience if we were playing an SEC opponent...but oh well, you'll still have a blast.

Regarding places to eat, if you are going to be in town on a weekday for lunch, you MUST make your way across the bridge into downtown Northport and eat lunch at City Cafe. Trust me. Also, a visit to the original Dreamland BBQ...Ain't nothin' like 'em nowhere!!!

If your on town on Friday make it to City Cafe. I think it closes at 3:30, but it may be 4:00. You can get 4 veggies, a meat, and sweet tea for the price of $5.84 + tip. Other places to eat are Mugshots in Downtown Tuscaloosa on Greenboro. Also Mike and Ed's BBQ on 15 st. Hooligan's on University they have a great ($5.00 even) Cheeseburger combo and other mediterranean style food. Hope you have a great trip.

Kenny Stabler's restaurant, 12, is located on the strip and open for breakfast from 7-11 a.m. and lunch from 11-4 p.m. on game days. My husband and I went in (usually for breakfast but did lunch a couple of times for night games). The food is great and reasonably priced during those times. Kenny was always there too, working the crowd. The first time we went in, they staff was short handed and he was even taking orders and bussing tables. It was great. I recommend doing that.

All the other suggestions above are great too, especially the Bryant Museum. Some of my favorite restaurants in town are Yazoo Courtyard Grill which is just off Bryant Drive on 7th Ave. I also like Cafe Venice, DePalma's, Evangelines, The Globe, Mugshots, Kozy's, Rama Jamas (on Bryant Dr. near the stadium), Waysider and Guthrie's (fried chicken finger plates, get extra sauce!). I probably left something out, but those are my favorites in town. Of course there is the Cypress Inn, but the last few times I've eaten there, the food has either been really great or really terrible, not sure what is going on with them now. There is another restaurant called Milagro's which is kind of out of they way but it is very good too. It's in a Publix shopping center up North of the River on Rice Mine Rd.

I don't think you can miss with these suggestions and the ones from the other Tide Fans! We're glad you are coming down and really hope you enjoy your time here!

Ooops! Forgot to mention Dreamland which was already mentioned above as well as Woodrow's or Archibald's BBQ.
