In a heavily partisan state, probably not.Your down ballot votes may still be meaningful!
My daughters' politics pretty much reflect mine, although both, Rachel until she passed, are both considerably to the left of me. My son's politics are similar. The grands are a different matter...I'm so sorry to see that. Mine are toddlers so I'm assuming I may never know how they feel about voting. My kids are both very into politics as is the rest of my family. So were my parents. Not that all of us agree on everything or ever did, for that matter. My children seem to be on the same page as I am.
my wife and i plan to go to our early voting location friday at lunchDropped our absentee ballots at the Houston County (Georgia) Board of Elections office. Didn't want to worry about the USPS.
Yes, Georgia blew past the 2020 record for the first day of early voting--over 300,000 statewide. As of this evening the state website reports that 605K have voted or 8.4 of those registered to vote.
i went this morning. my wife will go sometime next weekGeorgia is up to 1.184M voters or 16.5% of active voters, including two from us in Houston County.
Whoever wins the presidency, I'm rooting for Team Gridlock overall. Neither party is going to reduce government spending. Government will continue to get bigger. We're the world's largest debtor nation by far, and it doesn't seem to register how dumb cutting our own throat is.
Now up to 1.9 Million! Just over 25%Georgia is up to 1.184M voters or 16.5% of active voters, including two from us in Houston County.
We just early voted here in Palm Beach County. Oddly enough, at the library right across the street from Trump's golf course where the last shooting attempt was. I have never had a hard time voting there but, wow, this go round was crazy! Extremely crowded. One line for paper ballot voting, which is what we prefer, and one for electronic voting. But it was not made very clear as to which line was which and both lines were at the same door. No signs, no rope to separate and to top it off, one machine went down so that voting paper ballot was slowed tremendously. I called the SOE when we got back just to let them know that this particular location seemed a bit discombobulated. I hope they get that sorted out! Confusion at polls is all we need to add to the conspiracy theory crud!
Yes, we had to show ID. I had my driver license ready. I was surprised at that level of disorganization! When I called about it, the woman I spoke with seemed surprised, too, but glad I called. Thanks for your excellent report, Maudie.....glad you were able to exercise your right to vote in America today!
That sucks about the chaos. Why in the world these folks can't get stuff figured out by now is beyond me!
Much respect to you for contacting and reporting what you experienced.
Curious if you were required to show ID or not.
Thanks!!!![]()
