Wade LeBlanc is unreal

He goes down to the Bayou and mows down LSU like no one's business. He could be the best pitcher Alabama has ever had if he keeps up what he is doing. Hopefully we can take 2 tomorrow, or at least 1. rtr

I had been told that LeBlanc would be a draft-eligible sophomore, but after checking the rules, I am not sure whether that is really the case or not.

The MLB draft eligibility provisions state:
"Anyone who is at least 21 within 45 days of the draft is eligible."


The draft is held in early June, generally during the first week. I am unsure as to whether a date has been set for the 2005 draft yet.

If LeBlanc turns 21 on August 7, 2005, and assuming the draft will take place during the first week of June, it appears that he will fall just beyond that 45-day threshold.


Can anyone clarify his draft status for 2005 (assuming he doesn't pursue the unconventional alternative of withdrawing from school and appealing to MLB to enter)?
