I am hearing that our worst QB is better than at least 8 other teams in the SEC. Thoughts on that. I hear they all looked very good yesterday. I missed most of the game but did catch Star making a nice drive for a score. Has the lights come on for him? What a great dilemma to be in. Any thoughts by any one that watched the entire game.

I was thinking that yesterday as well...qb's 3 and 4 look every bit as good and even better than the starting qbs at several other SEC schools. Star and AJ have both improved under McElwain, as has GMac. And Sims is going to be a great one I believe. For the short amount of time he was in there, he looked good. And of course, we know GMac's ability.
We are pretty solid at qb, imo. I was pleased with all of them yesterday.:BigA:

i see a lot of people saying how the light must have come on for Star but during the game he played the most meaningful minutes last season he looked good IMO...he looked exactly like last year. In that game vs North Texas he showed good composure, passes came out very quickly and just flat out looked like he knew what he was doing. not saying he should compete for starter or backup last year but i could see him being a decent QB at that point. I feel comfortable whether he's our #3 or 4..i've never been able to say that as a Bama fan at QB

I will bet LSU would take any one of the four and be glad to have him. I also thought Star looked good in the N. Texas game last year, though he did make a couple of bad decisions. Yesterday, he looked really, really good.

I'd hate (or love) to be the QB coach at Alabama - what a problem to have! They all looked great and yes, I think any of them could be a starter at other SEC schools. In today's environment, it's tough to be a QB at Alabama with all the competition there! What a change! They're lined up, chomping at the bit to WIN! It's all because of THE PROCESS!:biggrin:

Me too. As I read somewhere else, you would think Sims can now affordably be redshirted. I would like to see him get at least 2 years as either a starter or frequently used backup and certainly 1 year as the definite starter. A redshirt this year may lead to at least that for him.

They would need to trade OLs as well and maybe pick up a RB while they are at it...those two things were half of JJs problem.

I have no ideal if the Star to transfer rumors will end up being true or not. I will however say this, if he doesn't he will have shown his pluck and grit to stick it out and work his tail off and get back into the rotation. If he does, I will say he may be the smartest young man on the team. When many players in the past have gotten to the point he was last year when he was dropped on the depth chart they started sulking and mentally checked out until they transfered. Star instead has taken every opportunity to learn from the best HC in the business and the best OC in the business in order to develop his skill set and make himself s better player. By doing so he has put himself in a great position if he does transfer to walk in and start somewhere. I am very proud of Star either way for what he has done and what he has shown us.
