The subject of slipping on ice came up on another forum and quite a few responses with suggestions for enhancing footwear for such occasions.-snip-Last winter, I was bringing firewood in from the shed. It was single digits and we had about a half inch of ice under 2" of snow. I was wearing crampons but still fell. That crap is hard to get upright on. I finally battled my way to my knees and, from there, I could finally get back up. I have better crampons now. A friend borrowed them to visit family in northern Finland and Sweden, so they're already been proof-tested...
