Week 5, Should INGRAM be the starter?

Good grief.
Normally I am not one to criticize thread topics (you choose to click, you choose to read.) But this is one of the most ridiculous threads I have ever read or responded to. Sorry! :frown:

I am so glad that this thread exists. It makes my post about Dareus several days ago look like a championship quality thread :).

Trent is extremely good. He is unbelievably strong, quick, and is a very good runner; however, Mark is a great team leader, was better at reading the defense, a better pass blocker, and was an equally skilled runner. Ingram will be the starter in WEEK 3 OR 4.

I have heard that EL is dominating in practice as well, so our stable of RB's is truly amazing.

Great quote from Saban in this article...

Saban added, "What's really unfortunate is that Mark, near the end of camp, was playing better than he had played all of last year and I am sure that he will get back to that level of competition and performance when his recovery is complete and we get him back on the field."

So Ingram is EVEN BETTER than last year. No way he is behind Richardson when he returns.

Trent Richardson is one of the best backs I have seen in some time, and it may be possible for him to be close to 1000 yards by game 5. with his strength and speed, and Eddie Lacey spelling him will be great to watch. BUT, Mark Ingram is special. very, very special. We may not see anyone close to him for some time to come. Of course Mark will l be the starter for the entire season. and next year in the NFL.

I don't know and don't really care who "starts". I just care that both are healthy, and doing their jobs. With Richardson having a more prominent role, I think he will get more carries than he would have if Mark hadn't gotten hurt. I could see each getting about the same number of carries when Ingram gets back with Lacy & Goode getting some too in relief...
