Auburn finished ahead of Alabama in Rivals and Scout only because they had room for a lot more commitments. Bama was higher in both in Avg Stars per Commit.

Bama also finished higher on ESPN.
Bama finished ahead in the Scout.com rankings. Not that I am encouraging anybody to argue anything especially recruiting with a barner but if you do at least no the details. ;)

As fans guys why should we care about how Opelika Community College did? As a part of the "process" all I now care about is how Bama did and they did fantastic. We got signings that met our needs and will be a great class.

Auburn had a great year recruiting. This class was a "hold your breath it could get ugly in the next few years" if they had a poor showing in the recruiting war. With a sigh of relief and a much better year than can be remembered they should be rolling toomers corner. :BigA:

My barner cousin, and I will hear this over and over...

"how great is Saban now, OUTRECRUITED IN HIS OWN STATE...IN HIS OWN STATE. How great is he??"

over and over.

and it is a pointless conversation to have with him.

He is the prototypical barner.
What state did this happen in? At best it was a wash, depending on who's state rankings one is looking at.

He is a national champion. I know, as you say, it is pointless, but that trumps everything to me.

Congrats to Auburn on their fine recruiting haul. Now they must put it together where it counts - on the field.
that is generally what I say :)

He hates Saban SOOOO much, :) and I completely understand why

Anyone know where i can find a list of the state prospects and commitments?

Actually the revised fall list when only those enrolled in school are counted means more than any of the current "rankings".

But yeah, for those playing at home... 2 outa 3 for the good guys! :BigA: (rankings, that is). :biggrin2:

Actually, we finished ahead of them on Scout too.

You did remind him that we beat them in Awbarn last year, right?

It's really not that painful to concede a recruiting victory to Auburn especially after winning a NC. Try it. Recruiting titles are beauty pageants. These 2 classes are close enough that I don't mind saying "Congrats" as I tip my "2009 National Champions" cap.

Considering where Auburn's been since Saban arrived and my early projections for Chizik, I don't mind giving him the verbal pat on the back and admitting he's done a better job than I predicted. Granted I don't think he wins as many battles without the "early playing time" chip, but all in all he had a pretty good showing captaining a boat that had been taking on water.

I wouldn't trade ours for theirs though and I'd reckon that's mutual.

:BigA:Have they ordered their recruiting rings yet? I guess this is another moral victory ! I think 1957 is the last time they finished #1 in anything! Have they ever had a #1 recruiting class? It was only last year some of the Aubbies said you couldnt go by RivalS !

I'm just pleased that two schools in the little old state of Alabama finished in the top 5 nationally. That's pretty cool.

:BigA:What does the Aubbies do? Discount Scout and Espn and only recognize Rivals? The last time I looked we were ahead on ESPN and Scout and the only reason they were ahead on Rivals was the shear numbers and not quality if you only look at the average star rating! I can only guess that all were offered immediate playing time and Bama played it straight by telling our recruits that they would have to earn playing time! I have to give them some credit ,they did sign a few quality players but I would not swap classes with them!

They pulled in a good class and they have cause to be proud. However comparing their class to ours is honestly ridiculous. Our class was brought in to fill specific needs and their class would truly do us no good. The only players in our class that will likely see the field are some of the DB's, the kickers, and maybe kick returners. Outside of ST players there's probably not one player in thier class would see the field next year. Without a doubt none of their 5 stars would. Cam Newton would not supplant G Mac and Dyer and Coleman would definitely redshirt. I am ecstatic about our class and can't wait to see their development.

Alabama secured 6 of the top 10 recruits in Alabama which include the TOP 4 in the state. Demarcus Milliner, Jarrick Williams, CJ Moseley and Nick Perry. Deion Belue and Corey Grant are the other 2.
Awbarn had #6, 8 and 9. One of those was a gift simply because of playing time.(Sanders) Consider this, CNS did not give offers to 95% of awburns class. The only offers went to Ladarious Owens, Craig Sanders, Jawara White and Jeremy Richardson. Those guys finished in the state 6, 7, 13 and 16. However, Awbarn offered all but 2 of our recruits from the state of Alabama, Tyler Love and Jay Williams. The rest of their recruits from the state of Alabama were of no interest to Saban. IMHO, we locked down the state, not Auburn. Come on, their best guy is #6 in the state:pDT_Armataz_02_42:!!
