What Are the Keys to the Game for an Alabama Win?

I think Ty slices and dices Georgia's secondary. Milroe was able to do it with basically the same OL and a worse coordinator on the sidelines. The key of course will be IF Ty has enough time to get it out. I think he will.

OL play is key. And we need some more TO's from our secondary.

I expect Georgia to have success in the running game. If they are indeed successful, I expect them to line up quickly after an ok gain and get us misaligned so they can gash us.....film shows our gap integrity isn't great and we get misaligned vs hurry up.....Kirby will exploit it every chance he gets.

Proctor is going to get speed rushed on passing downs. If we can put a TE over there to help him, give Ty some time, we will have success through the air. I think this could be Ty's announcement that he's in the Heisman race.

I also think we can pick off Stockton a couple of times, our secondary is good.

But...until DeBoer proves he can have an Alabama team be prepared and show up on the road....I have to expect a loss here.

We are very capable of winning this game. But DeBoer on the road doesn't give me a lot of hope for a win in Athens.

Good discussion!

Agree with most that's been posted, but I'll add one thing: DON'T LET UP!

Georgia is a 4-quarter team and they won't stop playing. If we are up 13 or 30, they'll keep playing.

I agree we need a solid game from TS, no drop type game from the WRs, and if we find a little success in the run game, we can win this game!

Red Zone success probably determines the winner. Both team will move the ball, but the team that can hold for 3s instead of 6s consistently will probably win!

I agree that the bolded part is accurate, and that Proctor has to have help. I just find it flabbergasting that a so-called top draft pick would need help that necessarily deletes a receiver from the pattern.

1. Hit Stockton. Have to find a way to take advantage of their weakness in pass protection. Hit him and and pressure him. Hopefully that also slows down him running the ball

2. People have already said it but protect Ty and hit some explosives in the passing game. Again, we have to take advantage of their weaknesses.

3. Tim Keenan makes a big difference and improves our rush d

I like GA’s rbs, they will exploit if we indicate weakness along DL at any point in the game. I think if our DL and gap fillers do their job, and Ty stays Ty, we win.

I'll say it because no one else has...score more points than them.

Seriously, it depends on which team and coaching staff shows up. Bama is capable, but will the capable team show up?

Continued elite play from Ty and the receivers, at least serviceable run defense and avoid turnovers. Do those three things and we’ve got a shot. I actually don’t think we have to be able to run the ball in this game, although it would surely help.

If Ty is getting hit a lot, or can’t consistently connect with the receivers, we will have trouble generating offense. If we get out of alignment consistently on defense and can’t stuff the run, it will be a really long night.

Overcoming the environment will be huge. Georgia hasn’t lost a home game since 2019 - and given last season, and the 2023 SECCG, and the narrative that Kirby can’t beat Bama, and the fact that this is the first time he’ll have faced us in Athens, UGA is going to come out with extremely bad intentions. A pretty good Ole Miss team went into Athens in 2023 and lost 52-17. That type of outcome is absolutely on the table unfortunately if we can’t do the things above, and play like “road Alabama” as of late.

Hope for the best.

100% everything above. The trenches will largely decide the game. Gotta stop the run and pressure Stockton and the reverse we gotta protect Ty and establish some balance with a run game.

From an individual standpoint, I think it would be a great time for Isaiah Horton to take over a game. It has happened with Bernard and Williams in the past so Georgia will definitely try to slow them down.

Throw in Brooks and our TE's, who JessN notes has been a pleasant surprise, and they have to cover the WHOLE field. I think Ty can feast if the OL gives him time and he keeps going to his hot reads.

That third point will be a major difference. Keenan will be a difference in the interior run game and disrupting Georgia's gameplan

What concerns me is just the mental maturity of the team. One common thread from Saban, Stallings, and Bryant teams were that they were mentally tough. Nobody likes to fall behind but they would just fight harder and focus more intensely when they did. I haven't seen that from us yet. I've seen some classic knock down drag out fights already in the SEC this year. We are going to have to win those kinds of games. UGA's already proven they can do that. We've only proven we can beat up on bad teams
