I do remember on my Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim hike I was in the place called "The Box," which is flat, but hot. I looked at my watch and was moving along probably 4mph or more and my heart rate was 130 or so. I had gotten in the zone and was definitely walking with purpose. I immediately slowed down and was thinking that I was burning through energy that I'd need later when the grade went to 25%+. Sure enough, a few hours later I would take 100 steps, stop for a 30 count, take 100 steps, etc.I describe rucking to people as "walking with a purpose".
