What happened to Gene Jelks?

Talk about outing yourself. Who on TideFans.com cares anything about what happened to Jelks? I personally could go the rest of my life not hearing anything about his whereabouts and be fine.

If I had you wouldn't have been able to express yourself on the topic so eloquently.

I don't ban somebody or "delete" a thread just because I disagree with the poster, post or thread. As long as it conforms to the board rules it will be fine. I do however have the right to express my personal thoughts on the post.

Not a barn fan here but i do remember the run against the barn in the iron bowl. Gene had that burst of speed from "running scared" it seemed to me. Bobby Humphrey never ran scared.
Gene was enticed by unscrupulous barn boosters to make up untruths in return for cash and a luxury apt....but he was never the brightest bulb.....

By the way, wasn't Eric Ramsey going to form a group to help keep athletes from being taken advantage of by Universities (au) and coaches (PatDie) that only cared about winning at all costs?

I met him at the Rec Center once several years ago. This was before all the troubles. I found him to be a very nice, likable person. He didnt act like a prima-dona.

I was very sorry to hear things went downhill later.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of Gene Jelks. Gene had life by the tail until he threw it all away. Does anyone know where he landed? Just wondering what line of work he was able to find. I don't expect to see him running out the game ball at home games any time soon.

Gene had life by the tail? Last time I saw him he was stocking the Pepsi machine at my office, which wouldn't qualify in my book as having life by the tail. But, hey, who am I judge your idea of the good life?

When someone just pops up with a thread about gene jelks. It's either a troll or someone waking from a coma and not exactly with it.

I'm going with troll on this one.

Honestly there are few names that bring a long tucked away rage this happens to be one.
