Question: What is your favorite Crimson Tide Basketball memory?

Other games I was at:

Robert Horry decking Dwayne Schintzius ... Horry got ejected but we won.

several games vs Ark

Bama beating LSU with Shaquille O’Neal and Chris Jackson.

I am too young to remember it, but beating LSU the night Maravich scored 69 points must have been pretty cool to watch.

I have two. I was at Coleman when Pete Maravich scored 69 points in I believe 1969. Most amazing display of basketball I'ver seen. Fast forward to 2004. My son and I sat outside the Biloxi Coast Coliseum listening to Bama upset number one tournament seed Stanford before going inside and watching Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney in concert.

This doesn't qualify as a favorite memory, but - was anyone at the game where Pete Maravich set the Coleman scoring record?

I was one of the crowd. Bobby Lynch covered Maravich most of the game. Pete scored 47 points in the second half; and of course this was before the 3-point shot. Bama won 106 to 104. To top it off, there was a skirmish at the end of the game involving Pete, several LSU big men, some fans and even a couple of our male cheerleaders!

Also .. in the Ray Mears / Ernie and Bernie days, Tennessee players would do a pregame Globetrotter-type
routine including a player on a unicycle spinning a ball. Mears was a real showman and always believed in hyping up a crowd on the road.:).

When C.M. and Wimp had the program rolling, our home crowds for the big games were as loud and electric as anything you can see on TV now.

My favorite memory was in a loss.

We just beat North Carolina in the first round of the 1976 NCAA Tourney and had the undefeated Bobby Knight led Indiana Hoosiers to play in Louisiana.

We had the lead late but Leon Douglas missed a layup and we ended up losing.

We played Indiana their only competitive game of that season.

I have always believed that Kent Benson, the Indiana center, got away with offensive goal tending late in that game. The ball was still in the cylinder when he tapped it in.

One memory that stands out to me is a sweet 16 matchup against Loyala in 90 I believe . They were averaging I think close to 90 a game and just absolutely wearing people out in the dance and we almost got them. I believe the score was like 62-60. They played their heart out on defense that day, we just came up a little short.

Also the 2004 win over Syracuse in the sweet 16 round putting Bama in their first elite 8.
