Many of us have our own opiniions as to what are current problems are in regards to finding the next coach. I'm interested in getting a handle on what our fans and other board visitors perceive as our positivies when it comes to luring the best coach/assistant coaches to Alabama. Which of the following factors matter the most?

NOTE: You can check more than one box, but try to limit your choices to your top 3. Thanks

There are lots of reasons why I believe the University of Alabama job is a wonderful job including the unlimited resources, atmosphere surrounding the football team, and the century of tradition that we have in Tuscaloosa. I think the greatest reason why this job is better than others, though, is the fan base. Some believe that we are a detriment to our team, but I believe that we are just the opposite. We want to win football games. We want to win SEC championships and national championships. Mediocrity is not good enough and shouldn't be. Why should we apologize for being hungry for a winning football team. I also believe that we have the most loyal fan base in the country. Where else will you find 92,000 seats filled each and every Saturday for a program that has been on one of the worst slides in school history. Steve Spurrier made the comment earlier that he was unhappy with the standing ovation his team got after a loss to one of the top 10 teams earlier this year (I think it was Auburn). Why was he unhappy? Because he wants to win and he wants the people associated with the South Carolina program to want to win also. He's not happy with mediocrity. We're not happy with mediocrity and never will be. That's why this is one of the greatest jobs in college football.

I also voted for tradition. However, our tradition has somehow cursed us as well. HC prospects out there know how high the bar is raised for Alabama Football. Also, HC prospects should also go into this program(or what's left of it) with the mindset of rebuilding it from scratch.

I think tradition is a big part of what makes Alabama special, and, as nutty as we are, I think the fan base is unique. There's nothing like it out here.

I remember 13 or 14 years ago, I was in Tuscaloosa on business and had a little time to kill. I went to the mall and was walking around and went into Deck The Walls, that chain picture store that's in all the malls. As soon as I walked in I noticed four pictures lined up, with accent lighting, along the wall - Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, Paul Bryant, and Jesus Christ.

There is NO PLACE where the position of head football coach is held in as high a regard. Heck, the next coach won't be taking a job, he'll be assuming an office.

Right on.

Three primary factors:

Tradition - Coaching at Alabama gives any resume a big boost

Facilities - Among the best in the country, and when combined with the tradition, allow a coach to have great success in attracting recruits

Football Revenue - The job pays the HC (and the entire coaching staff) very well, allowing the HC to hire and retain great assistants from around the country.
