The BCS Formula always seemed to work well. Until this past year, the committee's ranking s always seemed to match the old formula anyways...

This year the media was beating the drum for protecting conference championship games, which shouldn’t have even been in the discussion. That isn’t the playoff committee’s responsibility and anyone on last year’s committee needs to be removed for getting out of their lane.
