Besides Bama (Tennessee for me) or whatever team you pull for, what is the best atmosphere you have seen?

I have to go with the atmosphere in Gainesville.

I've been to all of the SEC stadiums except for USCe and Kentucky.

Florida is definitely up there. That "Gator Bait" thing they do is creepy. It's like the whole stadium is hypnotized. If you can get past the jorts, it's a neat place to watch a game.

The most raucous atmosphere is Baton Rouge, hands down. I can still hear the "Go to Hell Ala-bama" chant at Red Stick. Those folks are a little bitter. It's amazing to be standing 14'' from someone and not be able to carry on a conversation.

My favorite place to go to a game, outside of Tuscaloosa, is Oxford. There is something captivating about The Grove. It's not a tailgate, it's a picnic. I haven't been overly impressed with the atmosphere inside Vaught-Hemingway, so I'm not sure how great it would've been before they started putting the tents up.

I love beating UT anywhere, (sorry Volfan1) but doing it in Neyland Stadium just makes it that much better. The Vol Navy is neat. Night games there are unbelievable, the problem is it's filled with Vols. The walk to the parking lot - sans "Rocky Top" - is priceless.

I'm not sure if Arkansas even plays at "War Memorial" stadium in Little Rock anymore, but they shoot those freaking cannons off whenever they score. "Calling the Hogs" has to be heard to be believed.

My list:

1) Ole Miss
2) LSU
3) Florida
4) Tennessee
5) Arkansas

Autzen Stadium is an awesome experience. If you get a chance to watch an Oregon home game, don't turn it down.

VERY loud, fun fans, salmon sandwidches, mountain blackberry ice cream. I had a great time.

Outside of the home stadium, I've only been to Tennessee (2006 I believe), Auburn (many times for the Iron bowl only, as recently as 07), and Ole Miss (this past season), the Ga Dome (Clemson and UF this past season), and the Superdome (ugh, I hated that experience). My experiences with the away games:

Tennessee - Below average noise, the seats are WAAAYYYY too small, and the girls are slight above average :). We also lost. Classy fans.

Auburn - Noise is less than B-D for a big game but not bad, toilets suck (horse trough), we lost every time, and the fans are a-holes.

Ole Miss - Loud for the size, nice stadium, nice fans, the grove is awesome, and we won.

I'm going to LSU and Arkansas this year. MAYBE South Carolina as well if I can scrape up enough money. My goal is to visit every SEC stadium in 4 more years. 4 down, 8 to go.

I have been to Alabama vs Tennessee at Tennessee (2004). Sorry Volfan, but B-D was much louder (2003, 2007) when you guys came to T-Town than the game in Knoxville. The Vol navy was interesting, the fans were classy minus the drunk ones. We had passes to a Vol exclusive parking area, and they welcomed us and offered us food. Neyland's seats are small.

Virginia Tech was/is fairly impressive, especially given the fact that they were playing a cupcake and were up 21-0 after a quarter. Fun atmosphere, fans treated me well, and we generally knowledgable and passionate. For its size, comparable to B-D. Tailgating was a huge disappointment.

Virginia was/is a joke. I think I cheered harder for the Cavs in my Bama gear than their own fans did. You would have thought it was a library, even though the game was close. Too much of a country club atmosphere. I got stared at for cheering and yelling obsenities at the refs for bad calls against UVA. Tailgating UVA style=downing as much Miller Lite as possible before the game.

I've been to them all (SEC stadiums, that is), and I've always thought Tiger Stadium has the best atmosphere...at least until the fans leave at halftime when the Bengal Tigers are losing.
