What will you do when this is all over?

A simple question for the board.

What will you do once this whole coaching search is over? After days of scowering South Carolina, West Virginia, Miami and other boards, I really don't know what I'll do.

Will work ever be the same? Will there always be this emptiness I feel inside, habitially clicking the refresh button, just as I do now to see if we hired a coach at 2 a.m.?

I kindof feel like Frodo at the end of The Lord of the Rings, Return of the King: "How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on... when in your heart... you begin to understand... there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend." :p

Put my pants back on.

Seriously, when Shula was fired I vowed never to wear pants again until a quality head coach was hired. Sure it caused some strain between my wife and I and almost got me fired but it looks to be working!

Of course, I can't get my hopes up too high again. I was actually ironing my pants to get them ready to put back on when Rodriguez announced he wasn't accepting the job.

Was really tough visiting the family over the holidays...

Worry about our basketball team's pairing in the Big Dance? I don't know but there'll be something we can worry about. Roll Tide!

Oh there will be recruiting to follow and the hiring of the new assistant coaches to keep one on the board through mid Feb. Then SEC Basketball will be the hot topic. After the NCAA Tourney then the real doldrums set in.

I can see where that`s a problem. Especially if you go commando. ;)

Spend time with my wife and daughter. I hear my daughter is two now. And maybe I'll open my Christmas presents and celebrate New Year's. What day is it anyway?:biggrin2:

I, and hopefully many others, can finally get back to work! It's been maddening trying to do my job and maintain this constant internet surveillance. :rolleye2:
