I've gotten older and now have grandkids who are great for resetting priorities. and CFB is a less entertaining product these days.

At one time our lives revolved around kickoff times for Alabama Football, now if other things pop's up in life, I deal with them & hope like hell I can stream the game on my phone..

If i can't I just get things done & hope I can catch the end of the game when I get back home & here lately I usually end up watching tail ends of beat downs on Bama unfortunately..

I find myself gravitating more towards just watching highlights….maybe.

Met my wife in 2020... Watched every single minute of every game that year. But life has been busy since then and I've dropped off a good bit. I was also on a smaller private bulletin board that closed, and my interest waned with that before coming here. Now I just wait for the finalized roster before even reading up!

My love for the game and for Bama is still very high. I want us to win and destroy everyone - now more then ever.

I don't really care about anyone else. I used to have a few non-SEC teams that I liked to pull for. No longer.

I watch a bunch of games on Saturdays - mostly the bigger matchups from Big10 / SEC.

I don't follow recruiting or transfer portals ... and haven't in 25 years.

I cheer for Bama and not so much for the individual players (and especially not those who transfer in/out.)

I love the guys who stick around for all 4 years and just barely tolerate the drive-bys and only if they help us win.

The chaos will get fixed because it will have to get fixed. How and when that happens, I'm not sure but the current model is unsustainable and everyone knows it. The race right now is to get yours while you can and figure out the future in the future.

One thing that has definitely changed is my willingness to hold players accountable for their on and off field actions. We used to have a zero tolerance policy on directly criticizing individual players on here. That went to the wayside when players started getting paid. If you're gona be paid like a pro, we're gona treat you like the pro you want to be. I also no longer subscribe to the "they're just kids" nonsense.

It's getting harder to watch as Parity=Mediocrity IMO. True upsets are hard to come by since it's becoming a case where almost any team can beat any other team on a given Saturday so not much is shocking anymore.
YES. I've said it before on here that parity is actually not good for the sport. It just waters down the competition level for everyone. You need dynasties, you need villains. Without villains there are no true heroes. Look at the NFL....4-5 good teams and the rest are a mess. College football used to have 4-5 great teams, 10-15 good teams, and then the rest. We don't have those great teams anymore.

In terms of watching the game? Yeah it’s the same

In terms of everything else like pregame shows and post game shows and listening to the media? It’s declined a lot, I don’t know if CFB media has ever been this bad, if it’s not hot seat talk it’s this tired “SEC bias” and conspiracy chatter, if it’s not that it’s NIL this and transfer portal that and playoff expansion this and conference expansion that. I feel like the celebration of the game has been lost so I just watch the games, and that’s it.

I watch football for enjoyment. If it is not enjoyable I do not watch it.

My threshold/tolerance for bad football is low, I turn it off and walk away.

I should add that I used to consume all the talking heads and previews, but now I read only Jess and RBR.

I interest is slowly going away. I no longer schedule things around the games. I do still enjoy watching, but I find myself getting bored with all games that aren't Alabama. Now if I miss a game, it doesn't bother me. If Alabama loses on Friday, I will be done. Same with basketball, once Alabama is out of the tournament, sports are over for me. Sure I still have the Braves, but every Braves fan knows how that movie ends.

Even my favorite NFL teams are done so I am done with that already. I might not even watch the super bowl.

I still watch, because I love the games. Road games, I will watch, but if I have other things to do, I listen to Chris and Tyler.

But I run a tailgate so I'm on campus for every home game. I haven't noticed a dropoff in enthusiasm on gamedays. I HAVE noticed an increase in frustration with players and the mercenary environment that NIL and the Portal have created. I do share that frustration to a certain extent. But as long as the boys are putting on that crimson jersey, they'll have my undying support, even if I don't recognize some of the names from year to year...

There's nothing like getting on a website devoted to all things UA sports and finding a post about the lack of attention people pay to college sports and prove it by making posts about the thing they actually don't care for anymore.
There is a lot of truth to this. My point is, not caring when they lose, at least not to the point of spoiling my day. Also, not caring about any other team.

And at least we all care enough to show up here.

I guess the best comment I can make on this is, I’m still interested and always will be. But I refuse for it to impact me beyond the game anymore. I’m too old to let a sporting event control my mood with the people that I love and work with, beyond the end of the game. In fact, sometimes, like in the basketball game versus Arizona, I let it stop bothering me with four minutes left in the game. ;)

Still watch the majority of afternoon and evening kick Bama games, but primarily as a social gathering with friends and family. Early kick games will be on the TV at home, but I'm not locked in on it especially if my 3-1/2 YO Grandson is with me. If he is and we can get outside I'm spending that time with him. Like others I've grown to expect the unexpected when it comes to the W-L result and don't let it affect me one way or the other anymore. CFB isn't and never will be what it was pre-2020.

I love the game but my interest has diminished.

That said, it probably has as much to do with getting older and having changing responsibilities as it does with anything else.

I don't really care one way or the other about NIL and the portal although I do agree it has sown a lot of chaos.
