what's your screen name mean?

Because I'm a tide fan no matter what (real, authentic, sincere).

"Get down, get down, get down, get down tonight." Help me get it out of my head! (an ELO ditty)

I've got this birthmark . . . . :eek2: :biggrin2: :eek2:

Actually, back when I first started signing up for various internet message boards, I was signing on the communities that I had previously accessed via usenet. My usenet ID was my e-mail address--which was my name plus a number.

When I was able to choose my own username, I wanted something similar to my old e-mail address to make it easier for my friends to find me. So I'd try my email address, but I'd always get something like "Jthomas3 is already in use. How about Jthomas231?"

I've already been assigned enough random numbers for one life, so I said, "I need a number that no one else is likely to choose." aHA!

Somewhat tangentally, while I was in grad school, I took a seminar in Jacobean and Carolingean tragedy. The course description was simplicity itself:

EH666 - Decadence

We had a blast (well, as much fun as you can have reading 24 blood-drenched plays in a single semester).

Hey CrimsonMask, are you old enough to remember Len Rossi and Joey Rossi (professional wrestlers from Nashville)? I have some info for you if you remember them.

CrimsonMask said:
CrimsonMask: what a professional wrestler has after he "blades" (cuts himself) his forehead during a match. All of the blood then flows over the face and the announcers proclaim: "OMG! RIC FLAIR HAS JUST BEEN HIT IN THE HEAD WITH A CHAIR BY STING! HE'S CUT! HE'S CUT! FLAIR NOW HAS A CRIMSONMASK LADIES & GENTLEMEN! HIS ENTIRE FACE IS COVERED! OMG!"

or something like that.
Anyway, being a reformed wrestling fan I thought it was a cool play on words. Crimson (as in THE TIDE) and Mask (since that is what all of these names are anyway....something to hide our true identity).
Hence "The CrimsonMask".

"Who's Next?" Oops, sorry. An old Goldberg tagline. I promise I am reformed.
Anyway...........next.

Bama - The University of Alabama, my alma mater. Four little letters that stand for so much - a great state, a great school, a great tradition, class, integrity, winning, and much, much, more.
law - Both the School and my chosen profession
92 - a very significant number in my life - not my graduation year as so many think.

Because

I happen to live in Buffalo,NY and I have bled Crimson since the 1973 Sugar Bowl.I know Buffalo has a bad rap but it is really a wonderful place to live.

Unfortunately no I don't in terms of seeing them wrestle. I am 34 so I am not sure where that puts me in that question. I do know one of them passed away recently.
I grew up in the vinnie mac marketed 80's wrestling. I also watched NWA/WCW on TBS during that time. I still remember that they would constantly promo events at "The Omini".

Tsunami - Japanese, from tsu (harbor) + nami (wave): a great wave produced by oceanic earth movement or volcanic eruption

I have Japanese ancestry and I'm a big Tide fan (graduated in 1984). I've been reluctant to post for a while, because of the recent catastrophe.

Bammar

I was at the Grog House in Gainesville Flawrita in 1999 and they were calling me a redneck and a BAMMAR. That was before the game. After they were saying You dumb Bammar you'll never make it to Atlanta this year cause if you do Flawrita will pound you guys. WELL come December WE were in Atlanta and I unfortunately was with the same group. So before the game once again they lit into me calling me BAMMAR. So after the buttwhooping they still called me BAMMAR but it was with respect! Silly little Gaytors. So I kept the nickname and it's my car tag also.

While I do love my adopted state & city, it still feels somewhat like I'm in exile here amongst the USM/M$U/UM types. So I'm exiled from the state of my birth & of my university of choice. Also, as a genuine beach bum who grew up in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, I'm in exile from the beaches I love.
exiled
p.s. - "get down tonight" is from "Jungle Boogie" by Kool & the Gang isn't it?

I was born and raised in Kentucky, but went to graduate school at Alabama. I got my MBA in '95 from Bama, and then spent a few years living in Russellville, and working in Red Bay, Alabama.(Go Van Tiffin!) I returned home, and now live with my family in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It's not too original but it's me.

Remember when Keith Jackson used to call Lynn Swann "Swanny" during the ABC telecasts? Well, my last name is Swanson, and an old coaching buddy tagged me with "Swanny" and the rest is history.....

the letters K and B are the only capitalized letters in my AOL e-mail address and it is a name I have used on the 'net for several years....but this board wouldn't allow a two-letter name so I had to spell it out

on the board where I originally introduced KB (its a movie board) it has come to be a acronym for King Baboon

I use KB, KayBee and King Baboon in varying ways over the internet
