I agree that it is not as obvious. That probably comes from internal management. In other words, they are probably trying to meet their sponsors requests in programming while showing some journalistic pride. I like them both, but tune out some stories because their intent is clear.
There has been some pressure on PBS to increase the length of the sponsorship announcements at the beginning and ending of shows. Some have speculated that PBS' reluctance to do so led to Exxon/Mobile ending its sponsorship of Masterpiece Theatre.

BTW, most of the good stories that I have heard about the work that we are doing in Iraq have come from NPR.
So you're saying that NPR is a tool of the right-wing media conspiracy? :biggrin2:

I've enjoyed watching Keith Olbermann on msnbc, he follows Hardball in my area. Olbermann is an ex-sports commentator, and has a fresh mix of news and sports. He covers the news stories you often read about on the internet that don't make it to the primetime, evening news. Or if they do, it's usually a day or two later.
He's also had a running feud with the fox flagship blowhard, bill o'rielly that has been pretty funny.
Perky Katie's replacement on the Today Show seems to be pretty outspoken with a liberal/reality based perspective. I'm looking forward to seeing her there.

Katie blew too many political interviews on the Today Show for me to take her seriously as a legitimate news anchor. But she does have an endearing giggle, if you like that sort of thing.

I really enjoy Keith Olberman as well. I don't necessarily agree with on all points, but I respect him for presenting issues and viewpoints the rest of the MSM cowers away from.

He had this classic take on Hurricane Katrina......

"And most chillingly of all, this is the Law and Order and Terror government. It promised protection — or at least amelioration — against all threats: conventional, radiological, or biological.

It has just proved that it cannot save its citizens from a biological weapon called standing water."

Oh, he's still a villain VJ. He's just a little more concerned about how much prison time he's gonna do, than he is sucking up to his superiors at this point.
Spot - Funny how the thought of nightly gang rapes will do that to you.

Where are all the right wingers responding?? bush guilty of treasonable offenses? Anyone? No? not surprised. The article did state that the white house hasn't disputed these claims. Had a lefty been found to have been responsible for the leak, the uproar on this board would be unbelievable, but now that it's this W. imbecile, theres barely a reaction. not surprising.

President Leaks-A-Lot

There’s only one person with the standing, the gravitas, the credibility, and the language skills to sit down with the President and make him understand why this is wrong.

Unfortunately, Mr. Rogers died a couple of years ago.

"He must tell the American people whether the Bush Oval Office is the place where the buck stops, or the leaks start," Senator Reid said.

A bit presumptuous

I didn't vote for Bush in 2000 or 2004, but I wouldn't vote for a Democrat with a gun held to my head.

Sometimes you just have to hold your nose and make the best of two bad choices. Vote 3rd party and you just **** away your vote.

Right now, in my opinion, the only way to get the current crop out of office is to pull the tail of the donkey.

Or just stay home.

Living in a red-state, I think I've affected more change by calling/emailing my US Senators on issues that I'm concerned with. They may not always vote the way I want, but at least they've got a piece of my mind. And I feel like I'm participating in our representative democracy a helluva lot more than just by my ballot.

It's almost no fun around here. Dubya's getting kicked around, and there's nobody left to go to bat for him. He's managed to **** off his base in a matter of a year and a half (from Election Day 2004).

Like I said in a post a few weeks ago, it's no fun kicking him around anymore. He's doing such a good job of beating himself over the head.....why should we pile on?

One reason I can think of. His cronies have piled on everyone who has disagreed with them. Payback is due and it, as we all know, is hell.

I'd rather the people take back their Constitutional Federal Republic.
