You do know what the word barbeque means, right? And that barbeque ribs are barbeque?

Barbecue: from the spanish word "barbacoa" generally meaning to cook over open fire. In the modern lexicon BBQ is the application of low heat over a long period of time to differentiate it from grilling, or cooking over an open fire at higher temperatures for a shorter time period.

Since I've cooked a few thousand pounds of BBQ in my time, and on a couple of BBQ competition teams, I think I have a real good idea what BBQ is. And yes, ribs can be BBQ'd. When I say BBQ I am generally talking about pulled pork, brisket, or maybe chicken and ribs are, well, ribs. I never say BBQ'd ribs because, to me, there is no other way to eat them.

Sorry if I confused you. :conf3:

That's odd. Everyone in North Carolina know the best BBQ is at Alston Bridges' in Shelby.
You only believe that because you never ate at "The Pig" in Waycross, GA when Miss Lovie was cooking! :biggrin2:

Last time I was in Shelby, everyone was raving about Smoke on the Square ... they must have had a bad night when I went, certainly not in the top 10 for me. I will absolutely be visiting Alston Bridge's next trip though ... thanks!

Buddy's Rib and Steak also is in beast mode for breakfast. In home games they also serve breakfast on Sundays until one o'clock on home game weekends. It is on Laurleen Wallace Blvd. (69 north) just across the river in Northport. In fact, it is just past that Shell station mentioned for Archibalds. Btw - Archibalds has a location on hwy 82 at the old T-Town billiards location and one across the street from Academy sports.

Also just past Buddy's is the Pottery Grill. They also have great BBQ at really great prices (you get huge servings). It also has a location on HWY 11 about 1 mile off the interstate exit 79. Take exit and turn left. You can also just take it on into town since it becomes University Blvd. :)

Roll Tide. Hope y'all eat well.

I cannot agree more. I love Dreamland's ribs. Never had BBQ at a Dreamland, though. Just doesn't seem right. Ribs and white bread is more than enough for me.

Yes, because there's nothing confusing about someone saying they've "...Never had BBQ at a Dreamland..." while saying that they've eaten Dreamland's ribs and then following it up with "...When I say BBQ I am generally talking about pulled pork, brisket, or maybe chicken and ribs...".

Yeah, that all makes perfect sense.
