Mongo, Downtown near the AmSouth Bank building on University Blvd. you will find Depalma's or Venice Cafe to your liking as far as Italian goes. As for Meat and 3 head about 1 mile south on Greensboro Ave. to the Waysider. Incredible breakfast and lunch fare. For a little more expensive lunch go across the river to Rice Mine road and try Cypress Inn and also enjoy the view of the river. In Downtown Northport try City Cafe (low priced meat and 3) or The Globe (high priced International fare). If you want BBQ just follow your nose to Dreamland, Woodrow's or Archibald's. If all else fails you can join me for Vienna Sausages and potted meat.

If you're a goober like me who enjoys looking at vintage Tide pics & jerseys worn by famous former players, head over to Baumhower's Sports Grille. Wings are the main fare, but I like their burgers as well. The cuisine may not be so unique, but the decor is.

Anyone know if the Waysider is still open downtown? And if it's open for lunch? Breakfast (which is absolutely awesome!) is definitely the meal of choice there...following in Coach Bryant's footsteps. But if it's open for lunch it would probably be pretty good.

This reminds me...mrs. exiled has been asking for a trip over to T-town to roam around campus & eat ribs. Holidays are good, non-crowded time to make that happen...

Who remembers Nick's-n-the-Stick's? I wish that place was still around! Best bacon wrapped filet ever! And they had a huge 151 drink called a "Nicademous". Who remembers this place?

I thought Nick's-n-the-Stick's was still open. When did they close? I drank my fair share of Nicademouses.
