Which is better for recruiting BamaOnline or BamaMag?

Do you know about http://www.tiderinsider.com ? It may give you the best of both worlds. I personally subsribe to BamaMag but know other people who swear by BamaOnLine. It's a little of a matter or preference. I'd say get hooked up with the 7-day free trial for both (I think they both offer that) and see which one you prefer.

I like the fact that you get BamaMag with a subscription to the site, but I want the best recruiting site. Is there another besides these two?

For recruiting BOL. For stuff other that recruiting Bamamag. But save your money, its almost over for recruiting. I think TiderInsider is not what it used to be, unfortunately, cause I like Rodney.

Bamaonline is the best around.

Most of the people who have used the big 3 (TI, Bamamag and BOL) will tell you that BOL is the best of the three when it comes to recruiting info. Not only can you get the articles from BOL, but you can also read articles from other schools' sites with the right subscription. It helps to see the way the recruits talk to the other sites as well.

I tried TideInsider for a year but really didn't like the format especially the message board. It was nearly impossible for me to get anything out of it. The articles were pretty good, though.

It sounds like BOL might be the best option.

Thanks for your help!

If you're only interested in recruiting info, I'd say go with TI. It's easily the cheapest, and usually they get the info about as quickly as BamaOnline does. BamaMag is usually bringing up the rear.

If you want recruiting info and videos, I'd go with BamaOnline.

If you want all that and want to post on the boards, well none of them are that good. BamaMag is good about running off barners, while BamaOnline is out just because of SEBaseball. He defines 'damn' as being 'profanity' and will delete your post if you use it, and he lets the barners run wild. He's been known to edit posts left by posters he doesn't like, and lock other threads because people were 'talking about things I don't want to talk about'.

He's already run off one of his fellow mods there and several regular posters, including myself. Actually BamaOnline is a decent site, but he ruins it. Biggest arse I've seen on any of these boards.

So IMO I'd go with TI for Recruiting info, and stick to a free site like this one for the boards.

BamaGSR,

What board on BOL does SEBaseball moderate? I haven't seen him do anything on the Round Table board which is where all the talking goes on anyways. I'm on BOL on a daily basis and have little to no trouble with Barners, though they do lurk around a lot. Point being, it seems a tad crazy to eliminate a site with the main argument being the inability to use profanity in your posts.

For the person who asked the question, my expert opinion...

I'm a recruiting guru and could not do without my Bama OnLine/Rivals subscription. BamaMag/Scout rarely reports any unique info or breaks stories, and they don't even come close to Bama OnLine/Rivals in the video / recruiting database department. I let my TI subscription run out a while ago because the people on the forum, and the forum software itself both suck miserably, but I'm missing the articles and with recruiting as hot as it is lately I think I might shell out the $3 a month again.

Bama OnLine is a great place to get your information and to talk to people (great moderated weekly chat), so I'd give it a 9 over all.

BamaMag gets about a 7 for having ok information and an ok chat.

Tider Insider would get a 5 just for the info part (0 for the forum half of the equation).

SEBaseball is on both boards, but only seems to post on the Open Forum. I guess Tim and Lucky have told him to watch himself on the RT. He's also editted posts of Bama posters (which caused them to leave), he's run off a fellow moderator for deleting a post he left because he had 'damn' in it, and he banned me because I mentioned that Scout.com was Rivals' competitor. He totally ignores complaints about barners, and when enough people complain for long enough, he will finally do something, but will get mad and also start deleting posts from the people that complained about him not doing anything. Guess that's his way of 'getting back' at them.

Now let me be clear, I think MrCrimson is great, one of the best mods I've ever seen on a Bama board. And Tom4Bama was pretty good too, but as I said SEBaseball has run him off. I refuse to give BamaOnline a penny of my money as long as SE is there, if he ever starts up on the Round Table, the site will literally fold because everyone will leave.

Which is I guess why Tim and Lucky won't let him over there. Smart move on their part.

Again take SE out of the equation, and I'd give BOL about a 9 too.

The only two I pay attention to is tidefans.com and TiderInsider.

TiderInsider is interesting during games, and stuf, because people are literally posting every second. While TI is great if you sit there and "keep up" with the flow of the board it's ok. But for actually holding a longterm thread, this is your place.

I have found this board to be the best. BOL iis okay, it's just not me.

Here you got it both ways.... Game day, you can be in a thread where people post quickly about any little thing, then on other days it's a bit slower and easier to read.

I have also found the Recruiting board to be very good.

You beat me to it. It don't get much better than our boards and they are free. ;)

TideFans.com Recruiting Board

Gotta agree, if your main focus is message boards, TideFans wins hands down. And in the past year or so the recruiting info here is usually as good as the pay sites.

Tide Fans is really the only major Bama site that has improved in the last year or so, the others have either treaded water or gone backwards.
