It's post likes these that separate the the knows from the haven't got a clue fans.

Why would you replace a savior with a mystery? If there was a hot list seat for QB's, it would take a long time to find GMAC. 17-4 touchdown to int ration, 2500 or so yards over 60%, minimal mistakes, tough, gritty and leadership.

He will be listed as one of the top QB's in the SEC coming into this next season.

He's rated nationally around 15th out of 145 QB's. That takes a season under the belt to get that high, why would you waste that.

Our coaches know better THANKS GOD!

It will be hard to replace a guy who's never lost a game (14-0 in his college career) considering the candidates have yet to play a meaningful down past high school. And from what I've seen of Saban, he's not too big on taking chances on inexperienced QBs. Although, since he has a NC under his belt here now maybe he'll loosen up a bit, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

With five years in the system and four with Saban, and a 2nd year starter, and as well as he played his first year, and as smart as he is, I can't believe he won't be our QB this coming season. It would take a phenomonal effort on AJ's part to pass Gmac. I agree that PS will RS.

I guess there's some chance I'm wrong, but I'd almost swear I just saw Phillip Sims in University Mall in Tuscaloosa wearing an Alabama hat. He was with a group of guys wearing Alabama gear. Players frequently come in here, but they normally have a hoodie over their head so they're actually able to shop. I don't know how or why he'd be here yet... or maybe he has a twin brother, but the guy I saw looked JUST like this:

Does anyone know the status on P. Sims other than he's a solid verbal? Any reason he'd be in Tuscaloosa?
His looks are unique. He appears to have a bit of native American blood...

Ask Roy Upchurch and Terry Grant what their previous year's performance garnered them in playing time.......

Mark me down in the "no way GMac is unseated" category.

However, if AJ were to somehow pull it off, it would be a truly awesome feat.

Yup. That's why I immediately noticed him. He looked to be behaving himself AND having a good time. I'm not sure I even know how to do that. :D And Earle, your posts in this thread have been interesting. I'd enjoy sitting down with you to find out not what you know but HOW you know it.

Well I hope McCarron bulks up...he still looks to be on the real skinny side which may not bode well against SEC defenses. Particularly if he's not very mobile. He'll be taking some hits.
I do see McCarron possibly getting some limited playing time against lesser teams, but not necessarily passing GMac.
Playing quarterback is as much leadership as it is skill, experience and talent and I think GMac has a pretty good hold on the leadership role.

Gmac did a fantastic job going 14-0, helping to win the National championship!

That being said, the experience he gained + the fact that knowing behind him (QBs in waiting) will only cause him to work that much harder to see that he keeps his starting QB position for 2010.

Looking forward to the fight for the QB next year!

Man it's great to be from AL- A-BAMA!!!!!:BigA:

G-Mac will be the QB next season no matter what. I can't wait to see the spring game. I wan't to see what McCarron can do. I think it will be a battle between Sims and AJ for the starting job in 2011.

Does anyone know if Sims is in school now ?:biga2:RTR!!

Sims enrolled early and is here, as discussed a few posts above.

I don't believe some of you guys are giving AJ enough credit. AJ (per rumor supported by Earle himself) was a bad half of football from being the starter this year already, and you don't think he can pass GMac with another solid spring of mental growth?

I will not believe a word of inside information concerning the QB position from anyone while coach Saban is here. We went down this same road with GMAC and Fanuzzi, and the opposite turned out to be true. I believe small leaks get out and are blown out of proportion.

I appreciate his secrecy because rumors on what coaches are thinking towards certain players, if wrong, can harm the team.
