DeBoer is a coach that says absolutely nothing in speeches to the press while saying 1000 words a minute. Even then…. None of that contradicts anything I said.Don't think DeBoer agrees with you but it is your opinion.
"Keelon's doing a great job, but with Ty and Austin, just because they're older, Keelon's definitely working with the 2s," DeBoer said. "He'll get one reps from time to time, but that's no indication of really where we feel like he's at. He's killing it, doing a great job.
"You can see, when he's out there, he's getting more and more comfortable moving the ball down the field. If there's a throw to be made, he'll make the throw, that's for sure. Just the learning curve that comes with being young compared to the other two guys."
Like I said, it is your opinion.DeBoer is a coach that says absolutely nothing in speeches to the press while saying 1000 words a minute. Even then…. None of that contradicts anything I said.
Well dang. That can only be a good thing though. Russell winning the job would in some ways be the best case scenarioAfter the scrimmage today…. I think it may not be clear at all. Russell was far and away the most impressive quarterback and our offensive line and RBs look like serious question marks.
1) No one said it wasn’t his team. He will be the starter vs FSU barring something crazyGuys…it is Ty’s team this year. I mean what does he have to do to get people to believe in him? KR is not starting this year unless Ty gets injured.
Ty will more than likely be our starter going into Tallahassee. But I’m just saying KR is something else and our receivers are next level. I base my opinion off of whether or not you can ignore that talent on the roster and if the offensive line is as bad as they looked yesterday that a change is necessary.Well dang. proctor is out. But some of the stuff was more like “really!?” Kinda stuff.Don't we have some OL injuries right now? Or am I crazy? Hopefully when guys are healthy the OL will look better.
I worried last season...It honestly feels nice to have a clear idea of who our QB will be this early. Breath of fresh air to not have to worry about it.
A question to you is, what has he done to engender such undying confidence? Almost nothing publicly. And you sit here whining about a fan who has watched him in scrimmages for at least two years. His assessment seems to coincide with Ty’s only start: Hopefully adequate, but that’s it at this point. He may blossom in practice and comfortably exceed that evaluation but most of us don’t know.Guys…it is Ty’s team this year. I mean what does he have to do to get people to believe in him? He has stuck around in an era where that is simply unheard of. He has earned our respect and deserves to start. Plus, in case you haven’t been paying attention, he’s a baller.A question to you is, what has he done to engender such undying confidence? Almost nothing publicly. You appear to desire to suppress the thought of anyone other than Ty. If Ty’s the man, great. If not then let the best man start. Keelon Russell is highest rated recruit in Alabama history, won the Elite Eleven competition, won 2 state championships in Texas’ highest division, looks fabulous on the hoof. If he wins fine.
Never said he was the Messiah, or even implied it. Please don’t put words in my mouth. I have talked to a TON of people about this, and the general feeling I get from fans is they think Ty is a scrub. These same people thought Milroe was a shoe-in for the Heisman. Ty is simply not getting the respect he deserves for sticking around.1) No one said it wasn’t his team. He will be the starter vs FSU barring something crazy
2) What exactly are we going on about Ty to really believe he is the messiah that his fans make him out to be. The truth is that he is most likely an average quarterback that needs actual playing experience to see where he is. From seeing him in non public scrimmages for the past 3 years I can say he is good but not earth shatteringly great.
So really it’s blind faith at this point.
That is still blind faith based on nothing but the fact that he has stuck it out for 1 year of potential glory. It doesn’t really make Ty a ballerTy is simply not getting the respect he deserves for sticking around.
Based on what? A half vs USF, and mop up duty?. Plus, in case you haven’t been paying attention, he’s a baller.
While all the stuff about the OL is not great news, I honestly think KR closing some of the gap is great news. Either way it ends up, it'll push all 3 of them to keep getting better. Before today I would have said the chances of KR starting were under 5%. After today I will say anywhere from 30-40%. It’s not that Ty is that bad it’s that our offensive line is that bad and KR is that good.
I think people need to realize that the offensive line is going to be a pain. Today we would’ve had 2 players with 5 sacks each if the no contact rule wasn’t in effect. Whoever we trot out there at quarterback is going to have make quick reads and decisions because we don’t have a DeBoer Oline nor do we have a SEC caliber line.
I’m not saying Ty can’t get it done, but I still not 100% sold that he is the guy that his fans think he is. What I can say is that KR is the most impressive quarterback on our roster by far. Whether that translates into him starting or not is anyone’s guess, but people probably need to warm up to the idea that there is a real potential of us starting a TF at some point of the season.
Milroe stuck around and didn’t start, except for an injury, until his 3rd year but I never heard anyone, certainly not you, laud him for his loyalty or perseverance. He has stuck around in an era where that is simply unheard of. He has earned our respect and deserves to start. Plus, in case you haven’t been paying attention, he’s a baller.
