I don't think we have enough "film" on Ty Simpson to make an accurate comparison to anyone. I think we have a good idea what his strengths are and maybe some indication of his weaknesses. But overall, we aren't sure what we're getting until the Florida State game is played.
It could be later than that. It may not be until after the UGA game.

You could be right. But I just don't see Fla State being ANYWHERE as bad this year as they were last season. I expect a BIG BIG improvement from them. Norvell is not Saban nor Bear Bryant, but he's not an awful coach, either. He's a good coach and I would bet my bottom dollar he'll have them much improved.

Another "loss" of the portal is that we have to endure a lack of info from the coaches at times like this.

I know some complain about CKD's lack of info in his PCs/interviews, but in the transfer/portal era this will be the new normal so the HC doesn't send a wrong message to the players and they jump because the coach is suggesting they aren't in the race for starter.

And, at the same time, while I don't expect any clear indications that TS is running away with the race, the longer we hear about Keelon the stronger the possibility he could have a shot.

EVERYTHING is different now in college football. It might not be KR, but some young QB is going to arrive ready to play and amaze everyone. And when it happens, I suppose it'll probably be a guy with all the credentials and reputation like KR.

Agreed. I've seen some things that make me optimistic (couple of a-days, practice footage, etc), but we really just don't have enough looks at him to know for sure and he'll have to take all those little positives and be able to apply them consistently in real games.
