Agree - that's implied in the Jalen Hurts path thought. He also has a young and legit OC who can actually teach him the position. I’m betting he will stay regardless of the QB1 battle.

I did so specifically because of Gibbs.I did too, but not because of Gibbs. BOB and unimaginative playcalling stopped us on 3rd down way too much last season. Just did not have the personnel up front to roadgrade our way on short yardage no matter who the back.
If they don't leave in the post-spring transfer window (before summer), they won't have the chance to enter the portal before the end of the season.I think we will lose 2 QBs eventually to the transfer portal. Either Milroe or Simpson prior to Game#1 and one of the two freshmen who signed this year at the end of the 2023 season. It is a sign of the times, play me or I am outta here.
I wonder if this NIL crap could keep players around? I agree with your thought process, but it's possible a player could be bribed/paid/enticed/whatever to stay.I think we will lose 2 QBs eventually to the transfer portal. It is built in to the process now. And why we sign a QB or two every year. Just Sayin….I think we will lose 2 QBs eventually to the transfer portal. Yea, I dig and you are correct. But play action and wheel route is one of my favorite plays in football and that cat is absolutely deadly in open space. Hands are better than most of our receivers on the team. But you are dead on as far as needing a bruiser in short yardage. We need the boys in the trenches to step up too. Glad we made the coaching change and hope our new coordinators on both sides of the ball emphasize bully ball on the LOS.I did so specifically because of Gibbs.
I mean, we had relatively little chance with BoB at OC of converting any third-and-short. But with a running back who couldn't effectively run between the tackles, we had almost zero chance if we ran the ball.
Go back and look at Gibbs' highlights and see how many you find where the run wasn't a draw and didn't end up going outside the tackles. You won't find many.
Don't get me wrong, he was a great player. He's just not that type of running back...

It's not a knock on the kid, it's just a fact; you shouldn't try to use a Porsche 911 to pull an RV...
Did we run the wheel route to Gibbs more than a couple times last year???? If so, I don't remember.Yea, I dig and you are correct. So did Gibbs…Last season I audibly groaned every time Gibbs was in on third and short...
But we don't know that yet. What did you say after Mac threw 2 pic sixes against Auburn in 2019 that pretty much lost the game? We've hardly seen Simpson play. I get it. Milroe looked nervous and unprepared. It's different now, according to coach and fellow players.Because I think Simpson gives us the best chance to win a national championship.
When money is involved anything is possible.I wonder if this NIL crap could keep players around? I agree with your thought process, but it's possible a player could be bribed/paid/enticed/whatever to stay.
I get that and i'm just a fan. No real dog in this fight. Makes zero diff to me who the starter is. But you look at (maybe) his last throw last year. It was during mop up duty...just a stop route on the sideline. He bounced it 3 yards from the receiver. Nervous at aTm and inaccurate pretty much every other GAME he was in. But now in PRACTICE, he's tearing it up. I'll say it againBut we don't know that yet. What did you say after Mac threw 2 pic sixes against Auburn in 2019 that pretty much lost the game? My point was about hope. Oak was hoping it will be Simpson. Even though we don't know enough about either one. If Milroe starts and flounders, then put Simpson in. My hope is for the best player to give us the best chance of winning. And you can't look at a couple plays from last year to determine that. Maybe A-Day will answer some questions.I get that and i'm just a fan. No real dog in this fight. Makes zero diff to me who the starter is. But you look at (maybe) his last throw last year. I get that and don’t necessarily disagree but I have always kind of taking issue with fans ( just going on my soap box not accusing you of this) who weirdly act like practice isn’t important or that you can’t get better as a player or a coach. I know haters who still try to use CNS’s record at Michigan state against him. “He should have been great from the beginning if he was actually great” yeah there are players who just can’t seem to ever turn it on game day despite turning it on in practice. But I feel like they are more the exception then the rule.I get that and i'm just a fan. No real dog in this fight. Makes zero diff to me who the starter is. ….except Blake Sims didn’t win a “natty”.
Yes, as long as he doesn't lock in on one wr.
you’re right maybe I shoulda went with Coker, but hey Blake did end up with two rings. And that was a heck of a game against Ohio state in 2014. Blake was great all season and honestly I would take that from milroe
But the team didnt solely rely on him. Remember, people considered AJ a game manager even though he was a pretty darn good college QB. “Game manager” does not mean mediocre at the position.Whether anyone likes it or not, Thurston Howell III was an elite college passer last season.
That was unnecessarily hostile….By all accounts everyone is saying Milroe is showing out, improved dramatically etc etc. And then you come in with "oH I hOpE tHe OtHeR gUy iS StArTinG!" After Milroe wins a natty this year, ala BLAKE SIMS, We'll probably see Simpson transfer out and he'll be a distant memory.
