who was 3-8 of field goals his junior season. His punting stats look better. We have a guy on the roster from my hometown that was 18-21 his senior year of high school and is looking to get a shake this spring.

Corey Smith from Bunker Hill, WV.. he just commited... this should probably be on the recruiting board... check out his video over there... this guy aint no joke... probably the top kicker/punter prospect in the nation..

maybe we want him for punts and kick offs? Maybe someone else will step in for field goals? I don't know....I'm not kicking expert, nor am I a recruiting expert. Hell, I'm not an expert at much of anything, come to think of it. :conf3:

I heard it's because Saban likes to blitz a kicker every once in awhile to keep the offense on it's toes.

If he progresses like many think he will we will be able to save a couple of eventual scholarships.

If he can punt I'm all for getting him to campus. I'm tired of seeing people take over the ball on our 40 yard line. If he can't kick straight I would be for using another scholly on a kicker. Our kicking game, especially the punting, has been atrocious for much too long.

He is recruiting a kicker b/c JC is gone after next season and we need someone to KO, and maybe he can punt too.Last year we were OK with FG's when JC was hurt,but KO were less than average w/o JC.To be honest,I'm not sold on any of our FG kickers too,but this guy seems no better at FG's.

If the kid can kick-off, punt and placekick, spending a scholarship on him will be well worth it.

I think it's about time. We've neglected the kicking game for so long because we didn't have the extra scholarship for someone who wasn't an every down (on offense or defense) player. Now that we're back to full strength in the scholarship department, we can finally use one for a good kicker. The walk on's have done okay, but okay needn't be good enough anymore.

I don't care what you think of numbers- 3/8 field goals is terrible, if he is a punter thats great, but 3/8- we know what that gets us- a loss to Arkansas
