My keys against Auburn:
1. Offensive efficiency early and often. They're aggressive to a fault up front and play a great deal of zone behind their 4-man and 5-man rushes. Ellis Johnson will definitely show some new looks with two weeks of prep but DCs always go back to what they are in the end. Quick drop passes, screens, and the run in the first half need to be sharp so Alabama can frustrated their defensive line. In the second half, Alabama needs to extend the QB's drops and attack deep once they've manipulated the defense towards the short stuff and the run.
2. Lock down on special teams. Auburn needs something big to happen on special teams to really have a chance. Stealing seven points in special teams is a huge momentum shifter. On our return/place kick end, we need to be airtight with no fumbles.
3. Short memory defense. Auburn is going to come in with a compliment of pop plays to attack the likely single-high safety looks focusing on the run. Stay true to the keys and keep their run game in check. Making Auburn pass a lot on third and medium/long is the key to victory.
