Why does CBS insist on showing games back to back?

Again today we will probably miss a portion of the first quarter because the Maryland/North Carolina game won't be over before our kick off time. It absolutely infuriates me that CBS does this. ESPN at least has a little sense and puts a half an hour show in between game times. What is the deal CBS? (Here is to hoping they switch over to our game if the Maryland/North Carolina game runs over.)

At least it won't be bumped for post race coverage of a NASCAR race.

I would imagine they'd switch to our game for stations in Alabama if the early game is still going on.

That's not CBS - it's your local affiliate doing double duty with the SEC network. We're lucky here in Birmingham that the SEC Network/JP/Lincoln Financial game has always been on a WB station that doesn't otherwise do CFB.

I hope they do for you guys in Alabama, unfortunately I will be watching in Ft. Bragg. I doubt they will switch off for us since I am in North Carolina. Fingers crossed for a pic in a pic, that would be fantastic. If not though I will be on ESPN or Yahoo Sports for the play by play...or possibly in the car listening to XM radio.

Yeah, it's not CBS, it's your ACC/Station affiliate.

yeah - I'm in Wake Forest, NC. Actually UNC is playing Duke, but it will definitely run into the Iron Bowl. We deal with it here every time we have the CBS game. Fortunately, our local channel has two over-the-air stations and switch to the SEC game on the second channel.
