Im watching the 1991 Iron Bowl. Stewart came to Bama in 1987 as a RB and ended up on the D-line. The announcers mentioned him being suspended for 1989 but didn't mention why. Anyone recall?

Broke into a car. Lucky he stayed on the team. He was a beast at RB/FB before the year off, then too much weight moved him to nose.

Yup..He become one of the strongest & most dominant NT in the history of the SEC..He was absolutely nasty as a NT & seems like I remember folks stating is one of, if not the strongest NT's, we've ever had to play at Bama..

Yeah I heard his name used to be on the wall with a lot of the weightlifting records around the weight room.

Sticky hands in Coleman Coliseum parking lot during basketball game as I seem to recall. I believe a sony walkman was the take (at least that was the word on campus). Position change was punishment. Hell of an athlete. Swing pass TD against A&M in Hurricane Gilbert Bowl (FYI 1988) was a thing of beauty.

A lot of his records fell during the Franphoney regime; Fran used to have public lifting events. I vaguely recall someone around here saying that the events were rigged.

In any event, Stewart was the immovable object in the middle of the DL. He was only 6', so DLs had a hell of a time getting low enough to get any kind of leverage.

Broke into a car for a walk man but remember something about a sweater! Bill Curry could have lent him a sweater!

It was a cold night!! What is a guy to do when engaged in a larconeous act and suddenly feels a chill? It was there for the takng. Lol. And BTW Curry was too busy inventing bricks that are meraculously shaped like Don Lindsey's shoe to share sweaters, not to mention faking death threats. ; )

After reading your post, isn't it nice not to be holding ropes, it's rolling baby, etc. etc.? Thanks Coach Saban for bringing us back.
