Will Alabama ever play a game at Legion Field again?

Let me make sure this makes sense...
Alabama expanded BD because it wasn't large enough for the 100,00+ fans who wanted to attend games.
CONTRAST:
Birmingham refused to keep up LF and allowed it to become a dump that seated 15,000 to 20,000 less than BD.
THEN... Birmingham tore down the upper deck. It was not re-built.

It's been a while since I was in school, but I would hazard a guess that LF now seats less than half what BD does.

The Birmingham rationale is that the City of Tuscaloosa should loose millions of dollars so that Alabama could play in a dump that seats half what The University does.
Alabama would be penalized by not having recruits on their campus...
(Real Life Experience: My last trip to LF, I paid $5 to park in an alley behind a store.
When the game was over a group of 'Gang Boys' shot it out in that alley, while Alabama fans ducked for cover. Never again...)
71,594 is the current capacity.

ditto, i remember watching several key recruits make their debut on LF. Paul Ott running out on the field for his first game there. I was sitting with his sister.
Lots of big wins over the barn too.

Sadly, that is the logic of those in charge in the tragic city!

And get shot on the way to the car? My sister goes to UAB and she and her friends don't even go to the games because the area around LF is so dangerous.

If it were up to me, that statue of Bryant that (I think) is still outside LF would be transported to Tuscaloosa and placed outside The Bryant Museum.
The last time I went to LF to see Prattville play in the 6A finals, it was still there and I remember thinking then that I'm surprised it hadn't been moved. So, why hasn't it been moved?

I loved LF back in the day. I grew up in Bham. Helped my Uncle sell Tshirts outside the Tide and Tiger on game days. I met my wife at Touchdown Cafe across the street. I would NEVER go back to a game there. Period.

The statue belongs there. Coach Bryant and his teams made a lot of memories in that place. T-town has plenty of Bear Bryant memorabilia.

I've never been to a game at LF. I have been to BDS.

My parents used to go to games at LF with their Birmingham friends about 25-30 years ago. My dad talked about how dangerous it was even back then.

The same situation exists in my hometown Jackson, MS. Mississippi Memorial Stadium used to host MSU and Ole Miss games until about 20 years ago. It's gotten so bad around that area of Jackson that Ole Miss and State would be nuts to subject their fans to that.

As a student, I HATED games at LF. I always had to find a ride, the traffic was impossible, if you even thought about drinking before the game back on campus your bladder would be in level 10 explosion mode by time you got to the stadium. Often times the games were so early that you had to get up at the crack of dawn. You had to make sure at least one person in your car was sober so you could get home from the game, which ruined the game for everyone. Yes I saw some memorable games there, but I have NO fond memories of everything outside of the games.
