There are literally well-known media guys pushing for WA to get the Heisman - 'best player in CFB' - yet he doesn't make these cuts?

I'm not saying he has to win them all, but to not even be a semi-finalist really delegitimizes these awards in my mind.

If you read the prospectus on the Lott award, you could come away with the impression that it’s a bit of a participation trophy.
The Butkus vs Bednarik or Nagurski seems like winning your conference and not the NC.
