We will beat Tenn. FSU will be tough fought battle on National TV who knows. Barners tough call but down there and Tubby wanting to win this one so badly. LSU the dream game for ESPN they will talk this one up big time.

I see us at 7 wins maybe 8 nice bowl game and then 2008 and beyond we will come back to the top of college football excellence.

Man, that's one tough schedule, you could have a good year and never notice. Reminds me of LSU's last year. At Auburn, at Tenn, at Florida, at Arkansas, 11-2 and some people think Myles is a clown for not winning them all. One thing's for sure, with that schedule, Bama will be battle tested, with Saban teams getting better as the season goes on, look for them to smash somebody out of conference in a bowl game.

I think 10 wins is a high bar to set. Sure, it would be nice. But, for a coach coming in here his first year and turning a 6-7 team around like that would be a very tough challenge. I just don't think we should have that high of an expectation right now.

8-4 . . . possibly 9-3 with an upset win. Possibly 7-5 with an upset loss.
I think I'm being realistic . Optimistic but realistic depending on injuries .
Honestly , I'm hoping a bowl win could put the Tide at 9-4 .

the only teams i am sure can beat alabama is LSU, Georgia. have a good chance of beating us is auburn, tenn. i really expect alabama to beat FSU. they have had problems the last 2 or 3 years, beating good offensive teams with qbs. their offense lacks a solid running game, and a qb that has not produced well at all. otherwise, it is wide open. 9-4 best possibility, would not be surprised if 8-5.

This is how I see it pretty solid. Here are 7 wins I think you will get. I think you will pick up at least 1 more somewhere (please not UT) and win your bowl.

I voted 13-0. I never conceede defeat. Thats what I do with my 11 & 12 year old baseball team. I want to instill a "never give up" attitude.
By the way my team is 4 and 4 on the season and have played hard in all 8 games, I am proud of them for that and praise them for the heart and character they display.

I'm with you, AllTide, although I voted 12-1 (I think!). That was because I'm trying to be more "realistic" in my projections for this year!:biggrin2: :BigA:

I see begining the season as underdogs to 5 teams on our regular season schedule. BAMA will have an outstanding season if no upset occurs to us and we manage to upset any 2 of those 5. FSU in J'ville and 3 of the other 4 being in T-TOWN I can see a 9-3 by end of Nov and another win on New Years Day. I think as much a key to this sucessful of a season is preventing an ugly upset. If we are 5-0 when I'm driving up I-95 at the end of September I want to believe 10 wins is a lock. Once again, I believe!!!!

I think it's wonderful to be optimistic. However at the same time it is best to be realistic. Coach Saban has his work cut out for him. I too saw the A-Day game and there are still some of last year's mistakes...mainly some of the receivers had "droptheballitis". I see this year as a definite test. Next year, after another great recruiting season when Saban has more of his type of players, I will be willing to project a better season. This year however, realistically I predict a possible 9-3 or 8-4.

After going to A-Day, I think Coach's discipline, strong personality and motivation will swing us one if not two tight games that we're not supposed to win. I'm going with 8-4.....with 9-3 being a good possibility

Since I, with my crimson specs; voted 12-1; and if he swings us 2 that we're not supposed to win, that would put my bet at 14 + 1 and 0. Counting the A-day game, that's just about right. RTR baby.

I figured on those 7 games as wins, too. Of that group, the obvious choice for a win over us is Arkansas, but like someone said earlier, Darren can only carry them so far. Not to mention the problems off the field there.

UGA is another potential win for us. If their spring game is any indication of the dawgs having a weak D, this game could be a shoot out. To cliche it, whoever has the ball last will win.

FSU has never impressed me much. They played in a subpar league until the Big East lost some teams. I am not sure if FSU is as powerful as everyone thinks they are, or if they are relying on a false image to remain around the top of he medias favorites.

Tenn is returning a QB I think that may be a victim of reading his own press too much. Ainge looks good on some series, and awful on others. Couple that with what looks like slim pickin' at WR, and we should reestablish our dominance over Tenn a year early.

LSU...this is the team I would pick to beat us right now if I were at BD Stadium in front of the A Day crowd giving a speech. LSU has the best defensive front line in the SEC, if not the country. In fact, they will probably have one of the best Ds in the nation.

Aub...Certainly a winnable game, but ut may be similar to UGA in that we might be involved in a shoot out. Auburn and Alabama seem to be deep at the same positions on offense, defense we are not as lucky.

All in all, I don't think too much should be expected this year as far as SEC titles, etc. I do think that the time for expecting to win is at hand, and wondering how we will lose is gone. Of the games I listed as potential losses, I hope that if we only win 2 of them, its UGA and Aub. I am surrounded by fans of both teams and I am ready to repay old debts to them!
