Question: Will Direct TV offer Bama on PPV this weekend?

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I sure hope so, if not will have to go to a sports bar, nothing wrong with that, except I always spend way too much money on food and beverages, you know how it is when game time and nerves collide(lol)

Roll Tide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt I could even go to a bar and see it. I live in Louisiana. They are anti Saban and anti Bama to the core. I hope DTV offers it.

So I take it if DTV has it on it's Gameplan schedule then it won't be offered as a single game PPV? I can still watch it on ESPN360

This has been pretty hit-and-miss for me, but I will share my experience:

I have ordered Gameplan—at the suggestions of customer service—only to find the game blacked out on that particular plan in Alabama. This occurs whether it's a sellout or not. You have to call and order the game individually as a PPV, which in the past has ranged in price from $30-$40. In other words, the money is going to CTSN (or whatever they're calling it now), instead of DirecTV. And you don't get any of the other Gameplan games.

Good luck. I'm going to try it, too...

My Dad has DTV. We've always been able to get PPV games through it. And just a word of warning, there is no on-screen evidence that you have ordered the game up until about the time of the coin toss, then the station suddenly goes from the ordering screen to a shot of Leigh Tiffin placing the ball on the tee. Still, they've never failed to provide a PPV game.

We have Dish Network and also have Game Plan and this is the very reason I have it, to get the Bama games that are "not" carried by the major network TV stations!

For a little over $100 per season you can see 10+ games not carried by other means.......this means the less than dynamic teams we play.....and evey single year we get to see 100% of the Bama games!!!!

I'm totally hooked by this feature/plan and strongly recommend it to other Tiders who want to watch all the games and cannot be there!

PS: Week 2 of the games have not been posted for this weekend yet!
