I vehemently disagree with those of you who feel Bama will take a step back next year. CLEARLY, we will be even more dominant on defense and I still maintain that, overall, we will be more productive on offense.
All we need now is for Tebow to depart, and imo, Saban will soon add Myer to the list of coaches he is close to running off next, along with THE HAT and Ritch.
WIthout Tebow, Florida could have never beaten us last night. And Saban has had 2 4th quarter programs, 1.5 recruiting classes, and a new coordinator with only one year to work with the offense.
Don't forget guys like B.J. Scott and Jerrell Harris and Lawrence. These are special players; future ALL AMERICANS who just need a little coachng, seaoning and S&C. And don't forget Richardson and the potential for great contributions from the frosh next year.
Cudo's to JPW. But McElwain made him realize his potential. I DO NOT see a drop off at that position next year. GIVE MCELWAIN another sping to work with guys who may have a bit more raw ability and see what happens. And the offensive line, while maybe not as dominate on one side, could be better at three of the five positions, allowing us be more balanced runing both right and left.
In short, Tebow's departure and Bama's continued progression upward clear the way for US to be the odds on favorite to win the SEC next year.... maybe not in the eyes of the pundits, but in my eyes anyway.
