Would you prefer Lane Kiffin to coach Bama over KD?

I don’t think so. I would rather have him at ole Miss for a few more years before making a judgement on him. I’m in on CKD. He has won championships, albeit at a lower level.

That said, I will say if he can do what he is doing at Ole Miss, but with slightly better athletes , he can probably get over the hump of the Georgia’s and Alabama’s . So maybe if Coach DeBoer doesn’t work out, or moves to the next level , down the road if he has proven himself mature then yeah.

not only that, DeBoer has made it to the NC, Kiffin hasn't won anything. even with OM accomplishing a 11 win season for the first time in their history, they are not playing in the SECCG.
If Bama wins tomorrow night, DeBoer will be in the SECCG in his 2nd year as HC at Bama and in the SEC as well.

I will withhold comment until after the game tomorrow night. I don't want Deboer to leave, but if he should-----

I'm with CKD over Kiffin on this one. Kiffin is a talented coach, but has always seemed to be ready to leave a place if someone shows interest.

CKD is as close to a CNS on the offensive side of the ball as one can get IMO. He doesn't use the same methods as CNS, but right now, getting a lot of the same results. If he can improve the O-line, and maintain continuity, I think the sky is the limit for CKD.

Would you prefer Lane Kiffin to coach Alabama instead of Kalen DeBoer? Hypothetical, I know, but maybe not so much.
Nope, Unh,Unh . He is trying to learn to be on the straight and narrow ,but he hasn't had time to convince me yet.... He also can't or won't keep a job! All of our good coaches have had longevity and loyalty to the program.

Moot point because we’ve been told repeatedly by people with connections that it’s not happening under current UA leadership. Too much bad behavior from Kiffin during his time in Tuscaloosa. There was a reason he didn’t even get a call when CNS retired.

Coaching aside, I would argue that he’s still a bit too much of a media circus, makes questionable assistant coaching hires (Golding), and is not a great high school recruiter / over-relies on the portal.

Top-5 offensive mind and great player development guy? Sure. But I think the same could probably be said of our current staff.

No. He is not reliable or trustworthy. And if he leaves Ole Miss tomorrow, that would only reinforce that opinion.

If he stays, I may retract that opinion, but I still would prefer CKD figure this out, so my answer would still be no.

I dont want to move on from DeBoer before giving him a chance to not only build his team with his players but to also adjust and develop as a coach to the SEC. I would hate to move on from DeBoer prematurely and he developed into a stud coach for someone else. Remember, Saban didn't turn into "Saban" until his fifth stop.

Unfortunately, I’m not sold on DeBoer at this point but I can’t 100% say Kiffin would be better. Tomorrow night’s game will be a good indication on DeBoer’s fitness for the job since this is the type of game he blew last season. He has shown some improvement this year, but losing against an inferior OU team twice in a row doesn’t make me feel warm and fuzzy about the team’s performance against Auburn. He coached two losses in a row in games where rain was forecasted and our players were slipping down while the other team’s staff had the correct footwear for field conditions. By itself that tells me he’s not detail oriented and he’s had a problem delegating and following up on issues that contributed to unnecessary losses. I hope and pray he works out, but if not we wouldn’t be doing any worse with Kiffin.

I’m of the belief that CLK has proven that he can modify his offense to fit his players (i.e. when he was our OC—Blake Sims and then Jake Coker)—and he might have gotten different results last year with Milroe. BUT CKD got the job and I’m all in on CKD. If CKD left, I would have no problem for CLK to join us again.
