I think some of you don't know Mr. Finebaum at all. Paul's mission isn't to tell it like he sees it, or to enlighted people to the truth. If you actually listen to Paul's show for a while, and talk to the man, you quickly realize his sports IQ is pretty low. He doesn't really understand college football as it is played, in fact, he doesn't really know a whole lot about sports in general.
Instead what he does is he gauges what will get the masses of fans in this state to give him the most attention. Is it honey? Is it vinegar? He pokes at the fanbase until he gets the greatest response for himself. He doesn't care about spreading the truth, because he doesn't know what the truth is, and he doesn't care.
That is why, if you pay attention, you catch him being a hypocrit. Take the 2004 season as an example. Mr Finebaum before the season told everyone on his show he expected Alabama to win 6-7 games. Fast forward to the end of the season, he was saying the year was a complete failure, that the team failed to succeed the way they should have..blah.blah.blah. Well we finished with 6 wins, just as Mr. Finebaum predicted.
The best thing to do is not listen. Trust me, once you turn off his station you quickly find that you aren't missing anything. And on those rare occasions you check in to hear what is going on, you will ask yourself how in the hell you listened to that garbage for so long.
