Im pretty sure we would take him no matter what Reuben Randle decides. I've heard people on this board that he is as high as number 2 on our WR board. And we are pretty thin, depth-wise, at receiver. We could use a couple quality commitments, and this is one of them.

I still wouldn't rule him out on the defensive side of the ball. He is a beast there too.

Does this say anything about RR, or would have have taken Kevin regardless? Either way, Welcome!!
No bearing on Randle's recruitment, we would have taken both anyway (although I still don't believe our chances with Randle are all that good).
Great, great pickup for us! Welcome aboard (finally!) Mr. Norwood!!! :BigA:

Lord knows this is great news to me...lol...

I've been begging his Coach(Buddy Singleton) to push him towards Bama for months, which he refused to do...ha!! But all it took was for Saban to meet personally with "Mama" for about 30 minutes.

This kid can flat out play. He's got 4.5 speed, 6'2"(actual), long arms and hands that are made of glue.

Ole Miss was really making a hard push for him. Houston Nutt called Coach Singleton aside at an Ole Miss camp and told him that Norwood was the best player in attendance, and Bumphis, Patterson, and all the other top prospects from Misissippi were there.

I still think Coach Saban will convince him to play safety, but regardless we got ourselves one fine receiver and football player!!!

Roll Tide Kevin!!!

Another 3-star? Do you think his ranking will change any? We seem to be heavy on the 3 stars v. the 4/5 stars this year. That's just my observation.
I wondered the same thing. A lot of our offensive line recruits are three stars. Is it possible that amidst the large number of offers extended, the three stars saw the handwriting on the wall and jumped on board first?

MAN do you know how to burst someone's bubble!!!! Have you not read this thread, at ALL? It has been said that he is not as highly rated by the scouting services, but CNS and staff have him near the top of the list. 3 star smee star, who cares? Do we need to remind you, AGAIN, of the big time "3 stars" that are playing for us or have played for us? CNS is THE best recruiter of talent in the SEC. Now, get over the 3 star vs. 4 star nonsense and just enjoy the commitment.

Nick Saban is the better at evaluating talent than any of the services. If Saban is happy we should be happy.

These two have zero bearing on one another. Both would be welcomed with open arms.

Norwood is by NO MEANS a three-star. Rivals has him as a four, and he should go up after his performance in the AL/MS All-Star game.

It has been stated many, many times Norwood was 1 or 2 on our WR board, depending on when we thought we had a legit shot at Randle. Maybe some of you will understand this, he is higher on our staff board than Kelly.

The three-star guys did not "jump on board first." From this staff, you have a committable offer or not. Obviously, every commit we have, had one. We have turned down several commitments this year.
