Your window on the world? - Part 1

Had a productive weekend enhancing the landscaping. Almost done with the bamboo edging on the right side of the house.

In addition to the edging, we extended the irrigation and added some large planters in the back corner of the property.

Placing the edging along to back of the property line, I noticed Little @Bazza was checking out our progress. :)

Worked in the front yard this morning before football got going. Had a few Ospreys circling around. One landed in a tall Norfolk Island Pine across the street. Not ideal because of all the full branches so not really an ideal "perch".

That tall dead palm trunk I had in my front yard was really great for them until it dropped.

Not only are they gorgeous birds...their very distinctive call is just amazing! What graceful and beautiful raptors!

Driving south on Riverside Drive this afternoon. This fairly new home's landscaping has some palms that I like A LOT! - and are not seen/used enough in the area. I have plenty of them at my place of course and have also used them for projects. Native to Australia and are self-pruning "crown-shaft" palms with no armament. What's not to like? :)

Archontophoenix alexandrae.....commonly known as Alexandria palm, King palm, or Bangalow palm.

Coming over the North Causeway just now.....saw a little blob moving across the road. Truck in front swerved enough to miss, thankfully. I looked in my rear view mirror enough to see it would be safe to stop, put on my flashers, and grabbed the little bloke before he got flattened!

He's got a safe haven now at my place. What a beautiful little creature......
