The baby Wrens are getting bigger - won't be long before they fly the coop!

^^^^^^ update on the Wrens...they flew the coop! Watched a couple of them yesterday fluttering around...both parents hovering around in protect-mode....pretty cool!


Trimmed the Cabbage Palm at Mom's house today. She only has the one. Then there's 3 Queen Palms I also keep trimmed. Will do those next week. They get done on a regular basis. The Cabbage Palm is only trimmed one time per year.

Pruned Cabbage Palms today at one of my accounts. I do this once a year right after they produce their flower stalks. I did 15 and have 7 more to do.

This is called a "hurricane cut" - one that only leaves the newest shoot plus one or two more fronds.

I use two different size extension ladders plus a Milwaukee M18 cordless Hackzall with a 12" carbide pruning blade and a Kebtek cordless pruner.

Great work, looks like a lot of effort!

No photo(s) but I just saved a mama duck and her two babies who were crossing one of the busiest roads in Daytona a short time ago (Nova Rd.). 5 lanes (2 were turn lanes) - I was in the middle - ducks crossing left to right - vehicle to my left had stopped....I saw them and stopped and jumped out and held up the lanes to my right until they got across. Talk about intense!

Then as I got back in my truck I noticed one of the babies couldn't get up over the curb....so I had go rescue it....same drill across traffic lanes.

To their credit - no rear-enders!

Yes - I will be picking up lottery tickets later......whew.......

I started collecting sunrises and sunsets at the railroad to pass the time. This one is local and not that long ago.
