BREAKING YouTube.TV drops Disney/ESPN/ABC & an alternate

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Unfortunately for me I can't seem to pick up ABC even with a directional antenna 25 feet up. I will obviously be pausing my youtube TV if they don't have this fixed by time the LSU game kicks off. They ESPN could easily do this outside of football season but they always do it right in the stretch run of college football to put the most pressure on the providers.

Eventually we will be back to how it was when I was a kid, you get one or two games a year and the rest you'll just have to listen to the radio, except that I don't get any of Alabama's radio stations here either. You'd think I lived in Siberia, I live in Pell City, but a mountain behind my house does cause me issues.

YouTubeTV has gotten pretty expensive over the years, and honestly, with my other subscriptions, I don't know that I need it, so I think I am going to drop it. I just don't currently have a way to watch NFL games on CBS or Fox, but I can watch the college games I care about with the Hulu/Disney/ESPN bundle.

You can get the radio broadcast free over the internet!

I've listened to them on my phone more than once.

[The future I wanted] Man, I'm so glad streaming is now a thing. Now I only pay for what I want!

[The future I got] LOL, sure. Be ready to constantly change and wind up paying more than you were in the first place.

[The future I wanted] That's depressing. Can I at least get a hoverboard like from Back to the Future 2?

[The future I got] Best I can do is an electric car that runs over your dog then promptly explodes.

I signed up for ESPN unlimited and paused youtube tv. I can access on-demand games on ABC/ESPN channels. I don't really care about B1G games on fox/cbs. I don't watch pro so if this works out I can save almost $80/month. I'm using the disney/hulu/espn bundle for $29.99/mo for 12 months.

I'm thinking about rolling with a free trial of something that carries ABC and the ESPN channels to see if YTTV can get it back within a few weeks. My billing cycle doesn't end until then anyway so it's not like I'm going to escape a payment.

FYI, for those who are trying to wait it out (because they will reach an agreement eventually), Sling offers a day pass for $4.99 and a weekend pass for $9.99.

Don't you just love it when two media behemoths' battles injure the little people like us that they're supposedly trying to serve?

This will, obviously, get resolved sooner rather than later. But at least, for now, you're going to have to watch ESPN & ABC some other way.

I've been a HUGE fan of YouTube.tv since getting it 3 years ago and have promoted it here numerous times because it is so seamless and stream is high-quality.

fubo.tv is a good alternative and has a free trial with 200+ channels on their elite & premiere options.

Fortunately, they chose Bama's bye week to do this :D

For those of you with YouTube.TV looking for other options this weekend, Fubo.TV is an option:

Purchases made through our TideFans.shop, FuboTV and Amazon.com links may result in a commission being paid to TideFans.

The timing screams greed and leverage... 😖

What idiot opened/signed /agreed to the possibility of this happening in the middle of the most viewed time of the year...?😳

Whoever reviewed/recommended/approved that contract needs to be immediately fired!🧐

anyone got a digital antenna they would recommend?

I've had this one on hand for a while just in case my internet goes out for non weather related issues.

I've also used it a few times i just didn't feel like setting up my PC to my TV to stream (apps don't run smooth on my smart TV).

Last year and this year every single Bama game except for one has been on ABC and that antenna picks it up no problems.

The only minor issue for me is it's only 720p but it still looks pretty good.

You can get it at Wal-Mart for about $19.99 usually.
