BREAKING YouTube.TV drops Disney/ESPN/ABC & an alternate

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

there are no good guys in this mess. But, Disney owns Hulu and 70% of Fubo, so Hulu and Fubo are not paying Disney anything to have the privilege of airing their stuff. Disney did this just last year to Directv. They will do i again soon to other companies like Xfinity, Dishnetwork, Spectrum, Sling and any other company not owned by them
And that’s why I refuse to drop YTTV in favor of Hulu or Fubo. The mouse is trying not only to recover financially from multiple box office disasters on the backs of sports fans, they’re trying to drive customers onto their own platforms for that sweet recurring revenue. I will not reward them for that behavior. YTTV also needs to do right by us and refund whatever amount of our subscription costs go to the mouse. If this isn’t resolved soon, I’ll cancel YTTV and just get day passes from Sling or go to my brother’s house or a local establishment to watch the games I want.

I bought an over the air antenna for the game on ABC this weekend. $19 at Walmart. I was surprised that when I ran a scan, it picked up more than 40 HD channels. I watched ABC games all weekend over the air with great picture quality. Might be a way to ride this out for some of you.

How difficult was it to set up? I'm NOT tech savy!

What brand antenna did you get? I'm thinking about ordering one but have no idea which ones are good or bad. There's so many to pick from on Wal Mart's site.

All I did was screw it into the co-ax connection. Then go to menu or whatever in your TV and look for inputs. Find ANT/Cable. Select that input. Then go to Setup and click for the TV to run a scan of available channels. It will take about 5 minutes while the TV scans the area. I was shocked it found so much to watch. I am not Tech-savvy at all, and it was easy peasy.

Was able to watch Monday Night Football last night using the antenna. LSU v Bama and Okla v Bama are both on ABC so I know I am good to go for at least the next couple of games.

Did you have to move it around to find the best location? Did you have to extend the rabbit ears?

I did too and got a small rabbit ears model for $10 and I was surprised how good of a picture I got. I am just outside of Bham so that may be the reason it was so good. I also watched all ABC SEC games last weekend and Bama is confirmed on ABC against LSWho and OU and possibly the Barn but I would expect a deal to be done before we get to Thanksgiving.

I was shocked also and it was very easy and fast.
