What about this then if Colt comes back into the game to take up on their running game.I tend to give McCoy the benefit of the doubt here. I've lived with pinched nerves in my neck and lower back and nerve damage in my hands for a few years now and they can do some pretty screwy things to you. When you have something go dead, it goes dead. If he couldn't feel his arm he would literally have had little to no grip on the football and therefore no control over his passes at all. You can't throw what you can't feel. I've had problems in the past, for example, while driving when my hands went numb and I had to pull over so my wife could drive. It is a very disconcerting feeling.
The trainers were probably trying to treat what they could and give a little time in the hopes that the feeling would return so he could get back out there. He's probably got some sort of damage that is going to have to be surgically repaired. If he's lucky he only has to have shots and physical therapy.
Now, could he have stayed in and run the ball? Yeah, but then he becomes one-dimensional, you take Shipley out of the game and Shipley is clearly their second best player. So you bring in the backup with the good arm and give Shipley a chance to make some plays. Which he did.
1. Mt. Cody lands on top of him, makes him throw up like Noel Divine.
2. Rolando McClain hits him so hard he sees Tebow angels spining before his eyes, concussion
3. Arenas finds Colt on a corner blitz hitting him so hard they find nothing but Colt's shoes on the field.
