I was at the Colorado versus Nebraska game last fall in Lincoln, and I saw Sanders up close.

he was the third best quarterback in the game. He threw as many touchdowns for Nebraska as he did for Colorado. He had eight rushes for -30 yards. And then after he led them on a drive against some Nebraska substitutes late for a cosmetic touchdown, they pulled him and he left the bench for the locker room early. The after the fact justification not seen on television was that he was being checked out by medical staff, but having been there and watched him leaving the field - as all of the fans noticed - I thought that was a lie designed to protect his protected status. I will grant Dion may be telling the truth on this, but it sure didn’t look like it when you could see things that weren’t necessarily shown on television.
