Head coach Rob Vaughn earned the 250th win of his career

4/25/2025

TUSCALOOSA, AL –
A four-run fifth inning pushed No. 18 Alabama baseball to a 7-3, series-clinching win over Missouri at Sewell-Thomas Stadium on Friday night. The result improves the Crimson Tide to 34-10 on the spring and 11-9 in Southeastern Conference play.

Riley Quick (6-2) made his tenth start of the season, allowing just one run in his 5.2 innings of work. The right-hander matched his career-high by striking out seven batters while limiting the Tigers to three hits and one walk. Braylon Myers earned his second save of the campaign after working the final 3.0 innings, allowing one run, but fanning a career-best six batters, recording each of the final six outs of the contest via the strikeout.

The Crimson Tide tallied 11 hits in the victory, led by Richie Bonomolo Jr.'s 3-for-5 outing. Kade Snell and Garrett Staton added two hits apiece, highlighted by Snell's two-run home run in the third. Jason Torres provided insurance in the seventh, hitting a solo homer of his own lead off the frame. Coleman Mizell added two RBI to the Tide's effort as part of his 1-for-3 night while Bryce Fowler and Will Hodoboth drove in a run.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn

"I've said it before, but winning is hard. There were some things that I wish we could have back tonight. I thought Riley Quick was outstanding and was as good as he's been. He was efficient and he probably could've kept rolling but we wanted to be smart with him. Braylon Myers was great after the first couple of hitters. We need that outing from him with Carson Ozmer and Matthew Heiberger on the shelf tonight and he stepped up. We did enough offensively but we left too many men on base early on. I'd like to see the quality of our at-bats be better in those spots but we kind of let them hang around. So, that's what I want to see tomorrow is for us to come out and play a really good, clean baseball game."

How It Happened

  • B3 | After Justin Lebron worked an 11-pitch walk to open the inning, Kade Snell deposited a two-run home run to right. (2-0, Alabama)
  • B5 | Three consecutive singles from Richie Bonomolo Jr., Brady Neal and Garrett Staton loaded the bases for Will Hodo, who was plunked by a pitch, plating Bonomolo. After a strikeout, Coleman Mizell rolled a double past the diving second baseman, scoring Neal and Staton. Bryce Fowler then hit a grounder into the shift, scoring Hodo. (6-0, Alabama)
  • T6 | The Tigers rallied to score two runs on three hits, all with two outs. (6-2, Alabama)
  • T7 | A leadoff walk came around to score on sacrifice fly to right-center. (6-3, Alabama)
  • B7 | Jason Torres led off the inning with a solo home run off the scoreboard in left. (7-3, Alabama)
