I'm betting that Bama fans are looking forward to it more than Gator fans. I'm not among those that think that they are back to being sorta ordinary because TT has moved on. Brantley will do a good job for them at QB, but I still like our chances, a lot. :)
This Gator fan is looking forward to it, we will try to at least show up and play our best this time, UF didn't come close to matching Bama's focus and intensity last December, so its good for us we get another shot.

I think it will be a relatively high scoring game, I can't really see how UF will slow down Bama's running game much, but I think UF's offense has a chance to put up some points itself versus your new secondary.

It's gonna be a great game between the two best programs in the SEC. How do you see Brantley playing next year? What type of offense do you see you guys running...more of a pro style next year?

Regarding the Arky game next year, I'm not concerned. I'll be there one way or another, so I'm excited about that.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it plays out this way. However, I'm hoping: (a) Bama brings a more balanced attack to the table in 2010; and (b) by the Florida game, our young secondary will have matured enough to at least challange Florida's new starting QB.

If Florida wins, IMO it's doubtful Bama and Florida meet in the SECCG. Schedule works against Bama running the rest of the table. If Bama wins, IMO there's a good chance Bama & Florida meet again in the SECCG. I don't see anyone else derailing Florida. They catch LSU, UGA, & USCe in Gainesville this year. TN won't have the horses to challange.

I think Florida will be better on offense without Tebow. I expect them to go more pro style and with their speed and talent it will be a challenge for our defense.
Their defense has lots of players ready to step in. But who is going to coach it. You can't get a straight answer out of Urban as to what his status is, and when is he going to be available. His Defensive coordinator just left after 3 weeks on the job to take a job in the NFL. Who is going go search for and hire a Defensive Coordinator. With Urban taking off until Spring Training, who is going to be deciding the defensive issues? All that sounds like a mess that can't be good for Florida on the defensive side of the ball.
I think Florida could drop one to LSU this year and perhaps Bama. Even with that worst case scenario, they still win the East.
I'm looking forward to the game.

Bama needs to handle the Gators this year in T-town, especially as they bring a new QB and mostly new defense. The tables will be turned when we go to Gainesville with new QB in 2011.

This is what I'm curious to see.

Florida has a decent chance to actually be an improved team next season. They appear to be bringing in some more bulk defensively, which means they are unlikely to get pushed around in the running game the way they were at times over the last couple of seasons. I like their chances to be more productive on offense, even with the loss of Tebow. John Brantley is a very good player who would've been a returning two-year starter at this point if Tebow wasn't in the picture. He's extremely accurate and has a strong arm. I'd expect to see more of a traditional passing spread look out of their offense - I seriously doubt they'll go pro-style just because Tebow's not in the picture. I think we'll see something more similar to the Texas offense with Colt McCoy. I expect them to light people up with their passing game next year.

Of course, there are a lot of unknowns. The head coaching situation is still up in the air, but personally I fully expect Meyer to be on the sideline in full control next season. They are replacing a pretty good defensive coordinator, which could take a toll. But I think Florida is still easily a 10 or 11 win team next season, and probably the toughest game on our schedule. We do have to account for the fact that we'll probably be facing a very angry Gator team.

I am expecting Brantley to play very well...he is lucky in that UF returns 4 starters on the OL and the 5th open spot will be fought for by 2 experienced guys who each have played a lot...

UF also returns all of its TBs, w/ tebow gone they should touch the ball more than the 4 carries the TBs got in the SECCG...

...big ?? is the WRs, I think UF has the guys to get the job done, but none of them have been go to WRs yet so they have something to prove...

UF will still run its Offense primarily out of the shotgun, and there will be some of the same plays to the H back and some option and bootleg, but Brantley will probably be running it 5-8 times a game as opposed to 15-20...

Huge worry for UF is backup QB...there is none!..so if JB gets hurt, the season is probably over...

I expect UF to throw much more to TBs and out the backfield, Tebow didn't throw a consistent short ball, brantley can make all the throws and seems to read defenses and go through his progessions pretty well, so the ball should be spread out more...

other ?? are:

-- how much UF will miss tebow's leadership skills
-- how UF generates a pass rush, UF has bodies at DE but so far they have not produced
-- defense as a whole, UF returns 7 starters but the 4 they lost, Spikes, Haden, Dunlap and Wright were often the guys who made the plays...

Yeah, SEC West looks tougher than East right now, Tenn will be bad next year, UGA could surprise if new QB plays well...

I definitely look forward to this game. The Bama/UF being what it has become over the last few years has done wonders for our national exposure. Sure we already do fine nationally, but people all over the country tune in now to watch this game. I'm glad for it, and hope this seriers continues to be as hard fought as it was the last few years.

I'm sure it will be the most watched regular season game all season. But Brantley could be end-up being a much better quarterback than Tebow, if they could get some studs in the backfield. But as long as Tebow was there he was the quarterback and the best running back; Brantley obviously doesn't have that kind of versatility, but he should be a better pure passing quarterback. A Brantley-led Florida that could pass and run at will could be very dangerous.

this will be a interesting contest. fla loses their leader, and their offense will be new. and i am sure fla starts out with their usual patsies. bama will have a penn state game under their belt, and regardless of who wins that game, it will help our team prepare for fla. our offense will be even better, with a bigger, stronger off line, 3 rbs in mark, trent, and eddie lacy. receivers should be better, except for tight end. as stated the secondary will be the big test. we will have more speed, and i think basic coverage ability. the def line will be just as good, and linebackers i think will be a upgrade, except of course mcclain.

Due to the recent two SECCG's this will be the 5th meeting in six years between the Gators and the Tide.

Series is tied 2-2 should have the nations attention for sure. :BigA:

Best thing for the season might be to lose to Florida...the first time.
Well BIB, I understand what you're trying to say, but, for me, I can't see how Bama ever losing a game can be seen as being a good thing. I'm greedy, I want to win every last one of them.

Maybe a good passer but who will do the running now! They had a few good men who will turn pro as well, reason being the future NFL owner lockout.
And where did all of their asst coaches go and coordinators. Without TT (terrible tears) no running game unless they find one quickly. Flas good off cord left for Miss St. last year.:BigA::BigA:;)

Have two teams ever played in the SECCG three years straight? Either way, I like our chances cause the game is at home...but yes, Florida will be better than most think - the matchups are very interesting.
