Oh, why not.

Fire away with everything you have. All reasoning, even the unreasonable sort, will be accepted. :)

With all of the snooping the NCAA boys are doing in K-ville, Kiffin is the interesting pick. Without the corrupt, pompous Garrett as AD, Dennis the Menace...er...Kiffin could be in trouble earlier than we thought.

Zook - one 9 win season nestled between 4 losing seasons. Time to start the coaching search was last year.

Sherman - I would give him one more season to try for rock bottom

RichRod - Could be UTEPs next head coach

Kiffin - USC is screwed, live with it.

Hawkins - unbelievable he is still coching at Colorado

Shannon - he needs more time

Friedgen - his buy out includes 100 cheeseburgers

Davis - I think he survives

Price - Time to Roll baby

Wulff - dang he just got there

Nutt - Dang he just got there II

Miles - Good bowl record at LSU, has never lost fewer than 2 games in a season, is 8-8 in the SEC over the last 2 seasons including 5 SEC losses in a row in '08. He just needs a little more time to get his organization organized, according to Les he has a Damn strong team. If he isn't on the hot seat this could be the year that puts him there.

While I think Leslie has out lived his usefulness at LSU...for LSU fans anyway, I heard yesterday that his buy out is huge and LSU can't afford to dump him at this point. Maybe Michigan will dump "Rich Rod and the traveling Hair Show" and come calling on Baton Rouge. If they do I bet Ann Arbor gets some extra jambalaya come Christmas time and LSU will waive that buy out clause on their end.

IMO, Dan Hawkins is as lame a duck as you will find this season. Colorado was apparently too cash-strapped to buy him out last year, but with the increase in revenue they anticipate from joining the PAC 12 I think they'll manage this time around.

Ron Zook wouldn't figure to be too far behind Hawkins, but then again Illinois only fields moderately competent football teams about once or twice a decade, so who knows what the expectation level is there.

I'm not sure that I've ever seen consistently poorer outfits at the FBS level than Paul Wulff's Wazzou teams. I understand Wulff is a pretty decent guy and he wasn't bad at the FCS level. Wazzou is a tough, tough place to coach. But something's just not working up there. I have a hard time seeing him survive another one-win or two-win campaign.

Expectations are high down on the loveliest trailer park on the plains... If Malzahn doesn't surpass 8 wins this year, and loses handily to Alabama, you can bet AU fans will begin to turn on Cheez-it.

And I say Malzahn because he's currently Cheez-it's saving grace. If Malzahn wasn't there, Cheez-it would be lucky to win 3 games.

I went with Zook, RichRod, Kiffin and Miles.

Zook, once the school realizes that great recruiting alone won't get you anywhere his welcome is worn out.

RichRod, most recent employer and current employer under NCAA investigation for his actions at both places isn't a combination that screams job security. Add in a losing record, and Rita will be saying she never liked Meechagan anyway.

NCAA investigating Kiffin's recruiting at UT may end him much sooner than expected. A show cause order would be just desserts.

Miles, eventually the comparisons to Saban will doom him.

The ones I didn't vote for:

Sherman - Who cares, its TAMU
Hawkins - Ditto, its Colorado, they'll probably have more success in the PAC-12
Shannon - Well the U was too cheap to hire anyone better than him, so if his buyout is more than $100 they'll probably keep him
Friedgen - You've really got to appreciate how historically awful Maryland has been. As bad as he's been, Fridge is probably their most successful football coach since Bryant. He'll be there until the Socialist State of Maryland (I used to live there and am still adjunct faculty for UM) imposes a BMI test for state employees.
Nutt - After firing Cutcliffe prematurely, I have to hope that Ole Miss has realized their true place in the world
Wulff - He's a coach?
Price - He got a job after Destiny?

Thanks, rhYno, I was wondering if anyone had an addition to the list. Honestly, though, I expected Todd Dodge instead of Cheezers.

Michigan could do better than Coach Les. I realize he's an alum with a national championship ring, but they could do better.

That being said, as much of a botched mess as he's created in Ann Arbor, I think this year will be a turning point for Rich Rod. I still believe that he's a very good coach, particularly offensively. And I think they finally have enough components in place to effectively run his preferred offense. The defense should improve in year two under Greg Robinson, and I think they'll surprise some folks. Plus, Michigan has been known to be incredibly patient with coaches in the past.

Zook - Needs to have a good season (7 or more wins). Anything less and the heat is on.

Sherman - I think Sherman could start getting TAMU turned around this year. I give him two more years

RichRod - This is it for RichRod. He'll be fired before the season is over, mark it down. Harbaugh at Stanford takes over and starts to bring Michigan back to relevancy.

Kiffin - He's going to do something to get fired in the next year. I hope it's an NCAA issue and his new AD doesn't give him his buyout.

Hawkins - Last year for Hawkins, the move to the PAC 10 will spur a reason for change.

Shannon - Has recruited pretty well, I think they could have a good season.

Friedgen - Gone, might as well cue the fat lady

Davis - Who is NC going to get that's any better?

Price - Coaches another couple of years and then hangs it up for good.

Wulff - Won't last much longer. This may be it.

Nutt - Not going anywhere. At least he's guided them to winning seasons. Ole Miss can't ask for much better.

Miles - I'll go ahead and call it...Miles is fired after the season this year. LSwho will win 7 or less, have some embarrassing losses, and the heat from the LSU faithful will be too much to bare. LSU will be working out a deal behind the scenes with Will Muschamp by mid-season.

Ha! Ha! You know the way the barnzoes are, they can't stand operating under our shadow and Cheez-whiz bought a little extra time by playing it close with Alabama last year (and someway, somehow miraculously pulling off a top 5 recruiting class -- don't ask me how a 13-24 coach managed to do it). A convincing defeat this year will bring a load of pressure down onto him (along with heat underneath that seat).

The forecasters are saying Michigan will probably end up with only five or six wins this season and I can't see the Wolverines tolerating another season like that. My guess is he will have to win seven or eight games to keep his job; we shall see. Another blow to his chances is the NCAA nosing around. Michigan football has a long history of running a clean program, at least until he showed up. Not good.

Les Miles missed his chance to make the move to Michigan while he was on top of the world. Not so sure they will welcome him with open arms now. I'm thinking that the Hat will stay put until LSU gets fed up. Probably a couple of more years will wind him up, if LSU can afford the expensive buyout.

Richrod and Hawkins are my picks. But what about Mark Richt. If he does not have at least a 10 win season I think the heat will be on.

Not enough wins for any bowl, Rod is maize and blue history.
Zook = gone
Sherman will make it through season's end but that is it.
Hawkins = dead man walking
Wuff, being the Heisman at Florida cannot save him he is toast at Wazzou.

I was wondering if someone was going to mention Richt. He's in an interesting position, in my opinion. He's never won less than 8 games in his 9 years at UGA, and 6 of those seasons he won 10+. Last year he had horrible injury luck which contributed to his worst season yet. However, he is 2-7 versus UF. If he has another 8 win season, and another loss to UF then his seat might start to get warm, but I wouldn't call it hot just yet. That must be a tough spot for their AD. How do you fire a coach that consistently wins 8+ games but can't win the conference?

I agree the Richt situation is interesting indeed. He started off well but once the Gators brought in Meyer things began to truly go south. He has had good success for the most part in bowl games and has now defeated API 4 or 5 straight which means a lot to the fans though nothing like the FL series.

He always seems to recruit well but seems almost in danger of slipping into the second tier of the SEC.

Anyway, I look for Zook, Friedgen and Hawkins to definitely get canned while the others including RichRod may hold on. I believe 8 wins including an upset of the OSU will save his job this year. If not then all bets are off and the Wolverines welcome back Jim Harbaugh who will probably do great. I mean Michigan should win 9 a year just by showing up and a quality coach will once again put them in the race for a BCS title more often than not. IMO.

Great poll BamaChile! :BigA:
