As long as Petrino is our coach QB's and scoring points will not be our problem.

And Petrino is alot like your coach. Saban is a defensive guru, as Petrino is with offense. Should be interesting this Saturday.
I totally agree with that. Frankly I really hope that your defense hasn't improved that much. If Petrino ever gets a REALLY good Def. Cor. I will be very concerned with the Hogs. I think he's a lot like Spurrier in that regard, Spurrier needed Stoops to help put it all together. Saban seems to be slightly different, he leaves the offensive staff alone as long as the offense is doing what he wants it to. But heaven help the offensive coaches if the offense isn't doing what Saban wants. Major Applewhite could probably testify to that.

I give 'em credit for at least wearing their color and not black.
God bless you for that! There has been a 'movement' for wearing black in this week's game.....ughh.

The only game that an SEC team wore black that I thought was pretty acceptable was when Tennessee wore those Halloween costumes a couple of years ago (on, I believe, Halloween).

That was last year, and those were the ugliest things I have ever seen. They looked like pumpkins out there on the field :).

I think it just adds to the entertainment value of the price of a ticket as if collage football in the SEC isn't enough.
I always thought collage football was played with paper mache, some glue and bits of paper. Kind of like Ole Miss's current program....:biggrin2:

Don't mean to hijack, but glad to know I'm not the only one who does this....I've packed on 2 pounds since the start of football....must be all that finger food and cocktail(ssss).
2 Whole Pounds huh? lol.........you better be careful.......you might gain 4 by the end of the year.......lol

I stress off a couple of pounds during the games usually.......

Tyler Wilson is the backup. He is a redshirt sophmore. Pretty servicable QB but not much experience. This atmosphere would be way over his head.
You never know, that redshirt sophomore may be an experienced returning starter next season. Especially if coach Saban's game plan is what mine would be. "Men take out that QB early. We got a long road ahead of us and we need to be well rested." Of course do it legally!;)

:pDT_hah:Ugh! Dude.

Color-blind, right? That's the only explanation for that statement. There is absolutely nothing Tennessee could do with their unis that would be acceptable short of changing their colors entirely.

Offense has 9 returning starters......5 seniors (tightend, fullback....when we use one, and 3 OLinemen).

Defense has 8 returning starters.......4 Seniors (2 safeties, 1 corner and one LB)

Other than QB, most experts have been looking to 2011 as "our year" as far as depth and talent goes. Arkansas is still a very, very young team. Two years ago we were the 2nd youngest team in D1 playing 17 true freshman. Last year those puppies were learning to bite a little as sophmores. They are Juniors this year with some very outstanding sophmores mixed in.

We could only dream that Mallett comes back as a senior next year. We would be LOADED!
Not that it's the end all be all, but what has been Arky's past 3 recruiting class rankings? Just curious.

Not great really. I don't know the numbers, but according to rivals, not great.
But what we have noticed since we finally dumpped off Nutt to Ole'Miss, Petrino seems to recruit big fast coachable smart kids. Then get em strong and plug them into a great scheme. I think we will have to make a change with our defensive coordinator before we take that final step. But any time you can throw the ball like we can, you've always got a chance. And I'd say we will have a REAL shot at a BCS bowl this year. Other than Bama, we may be best of the rest . Our defense under Petrino has started very weak early, then better as the years went on. Like I said, we will have to change our coaching their to become a superior team.

But I wouldn't trade Petrino for anybody but your coach.

Sooie!!!
