An Attempt to "Crimson Out" BDS

There is a thing going around on Facebook about attempting to make BDS crimson from top to bottom. I always thought BDS was pretty red during games.

Thoughts on this? We've made fun of plenty of schools for "Black outs" and other similar things. I'm sticking to it for this. Don't dictate what fans should wear. One good thing is Coach Saban isn't e-mailing Tide Pride members and students informing them of a Crimson Out.

I like the idea, but that's me. I always enjoy the way the stadium looks with all the fans in one color (Penn State home games, Washington last night). I would just caution that it needs to be a fan-driven effort and not one the coaches push because that means they are focused on something besides the game.

the only ones involved in the facebook group are a select few who don't know that the alabama fanbase doesnt do color outs. they'll learn soon enough

I don't remember being in BDS and not seeing reds everywhere.

I will admit I think if somehow the following could be pulled off I would be impressed. Have a solid color (crimson or white) and then spell out "ALA" and "BAMA" or "ROLL" and "TIDE" in the other color. For instance, the color is crimson; the east side could have "ALA" and the west side could have "BAMA." Cool or no?

Bama fans always wear the same game day shirt every home game...because we are just weird/awesome like that. So if Bobby Joe wears a Tyler Watts jersey from 1999 every Saturday in the fall...then dadgummit...he is going to wear it next Friday.

The only fanbases that is probably similar to us in that sense would be Notre Dame and Penn State. Heck...for years my uncle wore a green/navy/purple striped shirt to every home game...just because.

Just be VERY LOUD when the Barn has the ball.
I had a thought about this. Buying drinks in the paper cups at the concession stand, and once the product is consumed, turning the cup into a mini megaphone, would be quite the noise amplifier don't you think? I'm seriously considering doing this. Just rip the bottom out of the cup and voila. What do ya'll think?

Thinking that somehow a color in the stands is going to make a difference in a game is like painting an engine red and expected it to magically perform better. The best way we as fans can affect the outcome of the game? GET LOUD WHEN AUBURN HAS THE BALL. Not sure if I made it very clear, but again, when Auburn has the ball, GET LOUD. Auburn Ball, -Deafening LOUD-. Auburn ball, trying to call audibles, EVEN LOUDER. We need to maximize the noise level for the game, make it impossible to hear, and do our job as fans to help the team win. I expect to not be able to talk for a few days after the game.

Old timers who ask others to sit during the game: we will be loud during the game. Don't like it, then please write a letter of complaint to Tide Pride or the Athletic Department. Please include your thanks for politely applauding Star.

Forget the "Red Outs." If every Alabama fan in the stadium would just do this simple act:

... the place would be deafening. Add 20-30,000 screamers (like me) and the joint is off the charts, and a real detriment to the Auburn offense.

Remember ... SHAKERS DON'T MAKE NOISE!!!

Be loud between plays when they are trying to call plays in from the sideline. They can't run the hurry up if they can't get the plays called in from the sideline.

+1.

We need to make this the loudest environment ever at BDS. So I guess to break it down -

Be loud when they are trying to call plays in,

Be loud when they are on offense/pre-snap,

Be loud during audibles,

Be loud anytime and every-time the Tiggers have the ball.

For those that don't understand (and I think almost everyone here is an exception), noise does not come from rattling shakers. While nice and appreciated, there is more to being loud than yelling "Go D" pre-snap, it has to be a consistent noise. It is a proven fact that sitting down and asking others who are making noise in front of you to sit will make the stadium quieter. Making a funnel with your hands (or using the cup idea), yelling as loud as possible, and even jumping up and down can add to the overall atmosphere. I don't advocate drinking, but if it helps you get louder for the game, drink up on 11/26/10 (just don't run over my car post-game).

Anyone remember this?

I believe the whole "Crimson Out" event was started in response to someone that had started a "White Out BDS" event. Yeah, let's all wear the color of the opposing teams jersey
