As expected, Clowney picks USCe

I find it funny that some of you (especially TideWarrior) think we brought him in for an unofficial visit because we're worried? So if we had the opportunity to bring in the no.1 recruit in the country on a visit do you honestly think we would not do it because we aren't worried? Any program in our position to land the best recruit in the country would not waste any opportunity to convince him to that program.Sorry it just amazes me how some of you have to spin it in your favor every time.

It amazes me how you come to a Bama board and not expect to see sunshine pumpers. I guess the great Gamecocks don't have those huh? Thanks for your input but EveryThingGreen is obviously better at posting on rival boards than you.

You shouldn't be worried about Alabama landing Clowney. With what we have seen in the past 12 months, I'm sure Auburn will offer him about a million dollars to come there and we'll get to see the "miraculous last second switcheroo" as JC announces he'll be playing his college ball at Auburn. I say this firmly tongue in cheek, but don't rule it out either.

This is a Bama board and crazy to think it but we want JC just as much as USCe does. Many of us realistically think that our chances are good but not great like USCe chances but that doesn't mean that we can't put a spin on certain situations that make us feel better about landing him. If you are truly worried about the spins that we put on stuff then maybe your confidence in signing JC isn't as high as it might seem to be.

You mean how on your board your fans are saying UA finishes 4th in the SEC West next year and that USC is BCS bound and possible NC winners. That is a spin from a team that went 9-5 which might be their best record ever. Or you mean all the people on your site that accused UA of negative recruiting him and that is why the coaches visited to clear up the lies of CNS and Co. Or that if JC wants to win championships it will only happen at USC. Or that USC is his best chance to get to the NFL. I mean if you like I will go and directly quote each one of those with a link to your board.

If USC was so sure JC was locked up why send a coach there and after the coach visited guess what cancel the FSU visit. Please do not go and come here this weekend. The fact is if he was a lock which to me is joke, the term that is, why would he not go ahead and commit. It would only help your class and maybe get a few more. Even your fans say the same thing. The fact that your coaches saw him at school and basically waited at the bus stop so they could visit him at home shows they are concerned. Because if he is such a lock who cares where he goes. No matter how you spin it my money is the coaches at USC are a little worried and to say they are not makes you an fool. Again with Spurrier holding his hand last night why didn't he commit then. Sorry USC might get him in the end which most believe including myself but USC still has concerns.

I understand the opportunity and USC would be foolish not to bring him in, but not like the spin of your fans that think JC beg to come or that USC coaches had nothing to do with convincing him to cancel his OV to FSU. It amazes me how some USC fans are so blind to think he might just leave but so were many last year regarding Fulton.

I might come on your boards but I do not start problems or call out your fans like some of yours do me. I try and be respectable there, I would expect the same on ours.

You are talking about Isiah Crowell here.;)

Some speculation about JC signing on his 18th BDay. To sign a NLI a parent or legal guardian has to also sign it for anyone under the age of 21. I did not know that. Even if they are married.

Must include a parent or legal guardian signature if the prospective student‐athlete is
under the age of 21, regardless of marital status.

And that provision has always bothered me. A lot of these guys just don't have a locatable parent or legal guardian. Most of these so-called "guardians," aunties, grandmothers and the like, have no idea of all the hoops you have jump through (and expense). Also, in most all states, once you reach the age of legal majority (19 in AL, 18 in many others), you can't even have a legal guardian appointed if you wanted. The age in the NCAA regs needs updating badly. It really should read "age of majority in the state of residence," or something similar...

Because the kid is from South Carolina. We have done a great job of recruiting and he will get exposure here like no where else but leaving friends and family is not an easy decision to make. Add that to an unofficial visit to USC this weekend and I think it is pretty clear JC will be playing for SC next year. Hope I'm wrong but that is the writing on the wall I read.

JC will be @ SC next year. John Fulton was an elite recruit but players like JC or a Julio Jones only come around once every 10 years or so. It's VERY difficult to pull them from the home state. We, as fans, should move on. I, for one, am ecstatic about X. Dickson, D.J. Pettway. L. Fanning and our other DE commitments. Getting him would be nice but will not break our class.

I invited several Carolina fans to share knowledge, and give an opposing opinion on this board. I said opposing opinions are welcome, but in the end , it is an Alabama board. I hope we don't run them off, as some seem to be knowledgeable contributors.

I also agree, JC will probably be in Columbia next year. Anyone seen the pic at the UK v USC basketball game? The kid is at home, but Spurrier seems to be uncomfortable. I can't see SOS working this hard at recruiting for very long, it was never his long suit and is really cutting into his golf game.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but read the thread. You should be able to glean the reasons why plenty of people don't think he'll end up at Bama. And don't say it's too long, you don't even have to go back more than a couple of pages to find what you're looking for.
